See our, high sehool basketball team didn't fare so well with Hebron and Harvard. But, let's give the boys a ehanee to recover. They I suffered a tough blow when Willard MeCulla was taken out by that injpry the previoua week. . i --- -Vietory didn't seem Important that Friday* night as one of our boys, "WiUe," appeared to be injured worse'than we have seen anybody hurt on a basketball floor* Tkm were but few diy eye* in the erowdt We prayed. So did ' others. Teammates were shaken and stunned. They stayed in' there and won that one for "Willo," but then eame a reaction. We hope the boys can start win ning. They were off to a good start this season and should come back. The last time we saw the Co-ops, they were a rootin'-tootin'-sharpshootin' buneh of basketball men. Everybody on that squad oaa shoot. --and everybody does! MeHenry town teams dfAW TUFger crowds than most teams, but there are plenty of seats left each week. High schools have the large student body to help^pacfc the gyms. Town teams must* resell Mil and attract mor# fans. They put up some nice basketball. Maybe the game needs more ballyhoo. We Hnd* think the games *eed mere shownmanship. Wtyere high school* have their cheer-leaders and pep bands, the town teams have none of the frills--just basketbalL Maybe the time has come to jwp. vp the games and put on some extTa attractions. Turned out to be a masterpiece a rainature television station. Pictured on the screen is our old Main Street neighbor,- Robert "Beef Patzke, all dolled up in one of Uncle Sam's army uniforms. The name on the front reads "AWL STAR NATIONAL BOOK UP." A real awl is punched through a nytal star and the eye of a large fish hook. Pictured on the back is Frank Rossman, known to his pals as "The Kingfish." Beside the "King" is his financial adviser. The picture is listed under "Coming Attractions." This masterpiece, is certainly i work of art--the work of k genius. We must preserve it for future generations to study. If the White Sox don*t show improvement next season, the fans will at least see a lot of new players the attempt < lad we think Andy Pafko will live longer now that the Qafym have a third-baseman. County tournament at Woodstock starts Saturday night. MeHenry plays Huntley Monday night., Huntley is coming up this year with a kid named Dwyer flashing some neat basket shooting. We look forward to the time when MeHenry can hold some tournaments in that big, new gym now under construction.
