Are you looking for a new, sensibly-designed and sensibly built house? Do you want a house that shows the result of the skilled workmanship of the Trades class? Then come down ahd see the house . being built by the Trades class. The . house is conveniently located some-1 where on the south side of town, but just to make jt interesting for you, I'm not going to tell you how to get there. You'll have to find it yoursejf. However, I will give you a* hint on how to find it: Come down to the high school and when you see what looks like the advance guard of a hoboe's convention start roaring off in an assortment of cars, then you'll know that the Trades class is off for the house. Another way is to call up the police station and ask where in town have they had the most complaints about some i kids disturbing the peace. This could be only the Trades class. Anyway.*! come and see the Trades housw w, for the noted commentator and analyst, H. V: Hopkins. The first C. Y, O. dance of the year was held»last Saturday night at St. Patrick's church. It was a swell dance, with Hank Heuser and his band playing. Of course, there were hot dogs, pop, coffee, snd other such stuff calculated to give the dancers indigestion, but still the j kids enjoyed it sll. There wss quite a crowd there and they all seemed to be having fun. I know I did! The annual choral concert went off with a bang last Sunday night. The auditorium was filled with customers who went out completely sstisfied by the vocal efforts of the McHenry high chorus under the direction of Miss Adele Froehlich. One of the high spots of the show was the giving of "Hie Nativity," which was handled most beautifully. We can really be proud of* our chorus here at school. Again this year, the speech clsss is giving small programs of speeches s round town and at school in pre- J psration for taking the program to other schools. The speeches are admirably done, combining humor, information and reatfy interesting material. So far. the speech class has given two psael fiarasslQns and many ssa«ller SBSSCbSS 9* the stage at school 'during the afternoon auditorium session. The two panel discussion were informative and timely. Odd V Ends: Bib Hhechmugl has a beautiful ChiiHasas tree up at the rink. It is really quite fancy and adds that eertai* something to the rink. HowemSr, Sfith the way I skate, it's mors of a skating hasard. Miss Stevens -aSketfe certain mem ..... bh m ...... to bring any recordings of old American folk songs snd ballads to school so that they might play them for tbe class. "They had a touch time trying to tell her that "Hemp's Boogie"^ by Lionel Hampton is a ballad. Now I've Heard Everything Department: When I heard about the new-famous "Moron's Delight Sundae," I though I had heard the ultraultra in screwy names* for ice cream concoctions.
