The businessmen of tie" Chamber of Commerce deiided to purchase the truck when they found it was for sale by the Lake fir* department, since Item' recently purchased » new. equipment.-' "Bill" Wright, fire captain, was proudly driving the big truck Around a bit on Sunday so t£at folks could see it Bill, together with Mr. Fox, A1 Schimke, and Bill Fktla, all of the businessmen's group, Journeyed to Fox Lake to inspect the truck. They decided to purchase it and Mr. Wright advanced tne money for payment This will be repaid. « A place to house the truck is needed; volunteer firemen to learn its- operation; and cooperation of the residents is needed to complete a full itounded fire-prevehtion program. It has been pointed out that having a fire truck available in Wonder Lak$ would cut fire rates. Also the equipment, being close, could always work in close conjunction with the McHenry fire department. Another meeting is* being planned to make further decisions about a place to keep the truck. This will be reported next week.
