During this season of the year when children are uppermost in our thinking; it is a great thrill to hear these young folks lift their' voices in song using their talents in worship of God. While we are thinking about children, did you send your contribution to the Woodstock Children's Home? The girls of the F.H.A. deserve our thanks for the time they spent last Saturday tagging. If you didnt get a chance to give yqur gift, send it over to the home, it will help make a Happy New Year for about fifty youngsters. Sunday afternoon at 4:30 our Primary department of the Sunday School will present its annual Christmas program. The year-end prizes were in addition to previous cash awards totaling I7S0.00 given to the winners. Britton I. Budd, president, precompany's general meter shop in Maywood, for suggesting an easier and time-saving method of checking electric meters tor grounded conditions. Second prize winner was Frank Phillips, Highwood, who was awarded $150 for his suggestion which advanced a more efficient method of immobilizing electric water heater switches without damage. Joseph Ernst, Blue Island, won third place and was awarded $100 for his idea that speeded up exchanges of gas range parts with vendors. A. R. Faford of the utility's electric operating department in Kankakee was giVen a $25.00 award for submitting the largest number of accepted suggestions during the yettf- The utility&=%uggestion system, founded in 1911 and one of the oldest in the country, attracted approximately 1,400 suggestions from employees during 1949. Of this number, 476 were accepted and cash awards approximated $5,000.
