Mo'aday we had the oilfportunity to attend the McHenry county ministerial meeting at Wauconda. The program for the meeting was the report given by Rev. Oisen of Marengo and Rev. Weisshaar of Crystal Lake, of the Illinois Methodist Ministers' Seminar held at Washington, D. C. last February. One of tlitv mainYinclusions of the discussion way that it is vital to our American way of. life that we draft worthy individuals to represent us in our, government. It wp as a nation desire to be looked jip to, rather than down at, we must cease our "pork barrel" type of politics and lift our aims to better the life of all •humanity. Rear Adm. fS. .W. Salisbury, chief of chaplains; United. States navy, in addressing.this' Seminar, made the startling statement that approximately r.O percent of the recruits in the navy have never been to church, and many of them are openly antagonistic toward the idea. Does this sound like America is a Christfan nation? The problem of old has a message for ns today. If you haven't read it recently we* challenge you to turn- to it and read it as though you were reading an article just off the press. It 6ould well have been written just for us. ,He rebukes man's inhumanity to man, the dishipatioiu that accompanies wealth, self-sufficient pride and man's blindness in religion.
