SPRINGFIELD--America's top entertainers will provide visitors to the 1960 Illinois State Fair with a complete program of fun and extravagansaa, thrills and excitement from Aug. 11 through Aug. 20. Bob Hope, who leads the nation's entertainment field of radio, screen and television, will be the headline attraction. Hope will stage two shows, on the nights of Aug. 19 and 20, the final days of the State Fair. Appearing at the Grandstand, Hope will present a show with five specialty acts and a name band, two hours of'fun and laughter. The famous State Fair Grandstand Revue will be presented nightly from Aug. 14 through Aug. 18. A lavish new musical extravaganza, it will thrill young and old with its spectacular color effects, scenery, costumes and vaudeville acts. Its production numbers include "Rendesvous at Four," "Rhythm of the Jungle," "Dutch Treat," and the ingenious finale named "Lights of Mystery," with the dancers performing on a huge, revolving cylindrical platform. Many women visitors to the State Fair will have the thrill of broacasting over a radio network that covers the nation. On Ride Hill, the Hennies Bros, carnival will present a variety of attractions, the top entertainment features being the colorful and attractive "Ice Capades." Ther^ will also be the midway, the sideshows, the motordrome, the majo* rides and Kiddieland. There will be the Illinois Rural Chorus Pageant on the first day of the State Fair. Aug. 11. This will be the first time Illinois residents can witness the huge chorus and pageant which will be in three parts: a folk opera, a folk and square dance festivalr and a choral-historical tribute to Abraham Lincoln. Even the children will have a special entertainment afternoon at the Coliseum on Aug. 11, with contests, prizes and games.
