F&RftfER GERMAN SOLDIER PUT ON YEAR'S PROBATION John Biel, the young Woodstock man who was brought into court a few weeks ago in connection with the theft of dynamite caps from a Woodstock resident, was placed on probation for one <year in the county court before Jhudge Henry Cowlin last weekend. He had pleaded guilty to a charge of concealing stolen property. Biel, 24 and a soldier in the German army during the last war. stated that he obtained the caps from James Curtis of Woodstock, adding that he kept them in his locker at the armory for a time and later in his car. He told Judge Cowlin and State's Attorney Don A. Wicks that he would try not to break the law in the future since he wanted to make America his home. He was born in this country but taken to Germany when a young child. He fought with the Germans in Poland and Russia, having been conscripted by the German Army. Rev Fr. Hergott Infant Buried In St. Peter's Cemetery Funeral services were held last week.
