He started his year Just a ffcw months ago and has already become thoroughly immersed in the many activities of the Post. As a hobby, however, nothing surpasses the pleasure he derives from the time he spends improve ing his own home. Both he and Henrietta have worked long and diligently to make of their house tho home of their dreams. The house is quite liveable as it is; it stands with its' face to the road in the liule town of McCullom Lake. It turns its profile to the beautiful. tree-laden plot of ground that belie« its actual size bv seeming to stretch far beyond the house. Harold and • Henrietta take a long range view of the improvements they hope to make. They hope to add a little colarium to extend their present idea of a garden in a window. This is a very clever bit of work done by Harold, "who likes to do his own handiwork. He studied mechanical engineering at the University of Illinois and makes good use of this knowledge in his business. He has a friendly per- I sonality, ready, always, to suggest [ways and means of accomplishing 'a task and just as readyy to lend a helping hand., . Henrietta, too. is a busy lady this year. She is president of the Legion auxiliary. She is not only president, she is the guiding light of so many of its activities. Her agile hands and nimble mind are forever coping with the necessity for raising funds for the auxiliary. She plans a dinner or two at the Legion home and calculates almost to the dollar just how much profit there is in it for the auxiliary. This profit is used to further the many welfare activities of the auxiliary. She recruits whatever volunteer help she can get. rolls up her sleeves and pitches in. literally. On occasion she has been known to spend sixteen hours in one day in the Legion kitchen. She hats many efficient helpers but hers is the hand at the helm. With all the heavy program, Henrietta finds time to live and to make friends. She finds time to square dance and enjoy it. She finds time to help others consulatetheif plans. Sire finds time to remain a lovable, attractive young matron. Some day she will find herself with an hour to spare or a day, and she will probably begin another project.
