Illinois: Your Special Committee to whom was referred the matter of the construction of a bridge at the site of the Barnard's Mill Bridge over the Nlpperslnk Creek in the Town of MeHenry beg leave to submit the following report on the matters before them. The plans have Iteen approved by the State of Illinois for a three (3) span I-Beain Structure. 102 feet long and 24 feet wide with two (2) additional sidewalks inside the railings. Owing to the difficulty and probable delays in Retting the necessary steel, we decided to advertise for bids for said improvement on the 21st day of Novemlt-r. 1»50. The bridge was plannyl to conform to the blacktop road or which the bridge is a part. The present bridge is set near the north side of the right of way and the new bridge being wider would necessitate the purchase of more land on the north side from Mr. Grover Wickline. We decided to recommend the new bridge be placed six (6) feet farther south than originally planned as there is enough room to the south and the eighteen tl8) foot blacktop road would need to WAvldened to twenty-four (24) feet in the vicinity of the bridge anyway.
