GERALD LARKIN A very beautiful wedding was solemnized at St. Mary's church o'clock last Saturday morning; June 2, when Miss Joan Durland, daughter of Mrs. Harry Dryland, became the bride of Sr. Gerald Larkin, son of Mrs. James B. Larldn. Rt. Rev. Msgr. C. Sf Nix officiated nt the double ring service. The^ children"* choir sang. the Mass and Earl tjbtoway was soloist, singing "Ave Maria" and "On This Day 0 Beautiful Mother" as th^,bride placed her bouquet on the Blessed Virgin's altara Miss Durland was charming in a white embroidered organdy dress, styled with high neckline and small buttons extending down to the waist. She wore a train and a short veil, the latter caught by a Juliet cap with eyelet trim. Her old fashioned bouquet consisted of stephanotis and a white orchid. tfrs. Jr., of McH.enry, another sister. Mrs. Patricia ScheUr^ man Romano of Chicago, a cousin, and Mrs., Elaine Schaefer Nell of McHenry, a close friend. All were attired in white dresses Of similar style. They, wore embroidered half-hats and carried bo^juets of multi-colored flowers. M0. Durland chose a navv lace and velvet dress, with white lace trimming, and wore a corsage of white orchids. -Mrs. Larkin was attired is pink-'crepe, with matchin b hat trimmed with pink roses. Sho also wore an orchid corsage. Breakfast was served to the members of the immediate families and pastors of the two churches. Msgr. Nix, FY. Baumhofer and Fr. Coakley at the Villa Hotel Resort at noon. Later, between 150 and 200 guests attended a reception held there. Appropriate nupti&l symbols topped the small tables situated in various parts of the room. A special table held the beautiful fqpr-tiered wedding cake. Following a trip into the West, the couple will return to reside in the home of his mother while she enjoys an extended vacation. The new Mrs. Larkin is a graduate of the McHenry high school with the class of 1946 and is secretary at the Overtdn Cadillac- Pontiac garage. The bridegroom is a 1940 graduate of the local school and attended the University of Illinois for three years before entering Navy service, where he served as an ensign. He was for a time manager of the National Tea store in Woodstock and at present is assistant manager at the local store. PERSONALS AMONG THE SICK Mrs. Elmer . Jensen underwent surgery at the Woodstock1 hospital last week. It* Timmie. ton of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Carey, is recovering from an appendectomy which he underwent at the jJVoodstock hospital recently. Mrs. George R.
