Burlington, with a powerful line and a couple of ball toters, gave the Warriors a busy evening, before heading north on the short end of a 7 to 6 score. Burlington passes worked smoothly early in" the 'game, until McHenry defense started spoiling their efforts. FMTSt it yas Pepping who broke through to spill the passer. Dixon then came in to intercept a fourth down pass that neared pay dirt. Following this, Huemaqn raced about 35 yards around his own right end to start the scoring march. By Dick Smith The Johnsburg Tigers visited McHenry last Sufiday and went home with a nice 11 to 7 victory. For the first four innings neither side could do much in the way of keeping the other side from scoring. The Tigers got five runs in the second only to have the Shamrocks come back with four In the same inning. The Tigers scored three more In the third and the Shamrocks' scored two. The score at the end of the fourth was Johnsburg 10 and McHenry 6. Both pitchers settled down for the last five Innings allowing only one run apiece. -- Pltxen Homers -- Jim Freund opened the second inning for the Tigers with a fly ball to center. Ted Pltzen lined one down the right field line and it landed right along side of the foul line flag. Ted never stopped until he reached home. It was a real solid home run. Harry Freund singled to center. Klapperich grounded to short -and Freund was forced at second. Meyers sent a grounder to Mc Cracken at third. His throw to first pulled Bolger off of the bag but Bill caught the ball and tagged Meyers coming down the line. In the collision Bolger dropped the ball and Meyers was safe. C. Hiller walked loading the bases. Lloyd Freund lined one into center field scoring two runs. Katz g r o u n d e d t o M c C r a c k e n who threw wild to first, two more runs scoring. The inning ended When Howie Freund bounced to the pitcher. -- Shamrock's 'Turn -- For the Shamrocks Larry Stilling lined out to short. Bill Bolger walked. Guv Bolger singled to left putting men on first and second. Paul Freund singled to center scoring B. Bolger. G. Bolger went to third. Rosing was safe when H. Freund booted his ground ball. G. Bolger scored. P. Freund stopped at second. Knox singled to center scoring Freund, Rosing going to third. Miller bounced to the pitcher. His throw got away from Katz and Rosing spored. The inning ended as H. Stilling popped to the short stop, tn the third, J. Freund sihgled center. Pitsen forced him at second, Wilier to Rosing. Harry Freund. tapDed one down the third base line and went all the way to second when Paul Freufid threw the ball over Bolger's head at first. Pitzen scored on the error. Klapperich struck out. Si MeyerB doubled to right scoring H. Freund. C. Hiller walked. JTev Freund at second. Johnsburg scored their last run on a single, a stolen base, a wild pitch and a single by Jim Frettnd. The accident occurred on Rt. 173, just weBt of Richmond, when Herr, driving alone, was returning from a visit with relatives in Wisconsin.' TOWNP THEATRE GRAND AVENUE FOX LAKE 7-lfll Weekly Scouts Earlier this month a court of honor was held for the Boy Scouts at the American Legion Home, with a good crowd in attendance. The meeting began with Bob Nelson and Cliff Todd leading the boys in a few songs which they learned at camp. At 8 o'clock the meeting was formally called to order and the flags brought In. Boys who advanced and a few high ranking Scouts were brought in and the lights turned out. Each boy gave a little talk about twelve Scout laws and lit the twelve candles on the table as they did so. The Scoutmaster lighted the three candles for the Scouts oath and the boys recited it. Most important advancement of the evening was that of James Weber, who attained the riink of Life Scout. This is just one rank short of tl^e highly honored Eagle. He has done excellent work in the troop and was very deserving of this award. The badge was given to him by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry M. Weber. The next rank awarded was first class, which was given to Toby Johnson by Mr. and Mrs. Axel T. Johnson; to Martin Foley by his mother, Mrs. Eleanor Foley; to Philip Ricker by Mr. ana Mrs. James K. Ricker; and Terry Reid by Mr. and Mrs. James K. Reid. : Second class awards went to Paul Jessup, awarded by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul S. Jessup; to Edmund Cepulis by his mother, Mrs. Cepulis; and to Lee Vance by Mr. a!nd Mrs. Harold E. Vance. It was decided to continue meetings on Thursday night.
