HEART EXHIBIT TO BE HELD AT SCIENCE MUSEUM The Museum of Science and Industry will open its heart to visitors this summer when an exhibit now under construction for the Chicago Heart association is completed. Expected to be ready sometime in June, the exhibit features an enormous heart, sixteen feet high, which visitors may walk inside and see the intricate muscle and valve structure, the auricles and ventricles and even hear the muffled sounds of a. normal heart beat. Using modern display techniques, the heart and circulation of the blood will be portrayed, with particular emphasis on the new hope which today's research is bringing to the victims ot heart disease. Designed by the Illustration Studios of the University of Illinois, the exhibit will constitute another unique chapter in presenting the story of man in relation to the health sciences which was begun three years ago in the now world-famous exhibit on the story of human conception and development, "The Miracle of Growth." Plan For June Art Festival The- second annual "Magnificent Mile" art festival, sponsored by the North Michigan Avenue association to. spotlight Chicagoland artists' work, will be held this year from June 20 through June 29. Artists within 100 miles of Chicago are invited to submit paintings which will be judged by a carefully selected jury of qualified art experts. Of the entered works which qualify, approximately 250 will be exhibited in the windows of North Michigan avenue, merchants, where it is estimated a million avenue strollers will view the ten-^ay show- During this period, winners of a prize pool totalling 92,000 in cash awards will be determined in two ways.
