Willie Klapperich, aided by dazzling support, pitched a 2-hit game in gaining the victory. Klapperich faced only 30 batters in the nine innings, issuing only one base on balls. The game was won in the first inning when Howie Katz drove a home run into deep left following a base on balls to Dick Hiller. Woodstock's young pitcher, Peajock, faced eight men in this inning, but settled down from a shaky start to pitch fine ball. -- G. Jackson Triples -- Geofge Jackson led off the second with a three-bagger for Woodstock and scored his team's lone run on a long fly by Norm Britz to center field. Klapperich then held the visitors hitless until the ninth when Torgeson singled to left with two down. Tt was the "Cub-Dad Weekend" at Camp Lowden, near Oregon, 111., where a scouting program was set up especially for Cub Scouts and their dads. Practically everyone congregated in the swimming pool during the day time. No one could think of a better place considering the weather. The unfortunate ones who couldn't; go swimming went on hikes. v. Besides swimming and hiking, there were swimming exhibitions, a campfire program and even coffee at the lodge for the dads after the kids, hit the hay. The campfire program consisted of a touch of Indian lore, followd by stunts, such as singing, jokes, etc., performed by e&ch pack. . With tents, sleeping bags, army cots and other gear in tow, the following from our local Pack No. 362, attended: Terry and Ernest Harth, Donnie and Harold Vycital, Buddy and Edwin Reid, Wallie and Walter Aufrecht, Bobbie and Paul Jessup, Bobby and Hal Vaupell, Gary and Vale Adams, Stevie Fike and Jack Weber, Jim and F.
