Everyone is very- cordially invitag to Attend. • ; Mr. and Mrs. Theadore Beahler celebrated their seventeenth wedi ding anniversary on July 4, with la family reunion party. The ' guests included Mr. and Mrs. Lloyde Dascher ahd Mr.- and Mrs. i&rman Hatch of Eau Clair, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Hatch of Mt. Prospect; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hatch and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Hatch of Chicago. The family enjoyed a picnic on the lawn and had a very enjoyable visit. turned from their vacations, which they spent each in his own way. Ted and Dick, together with Billy Dick, went to Rhinelander, Wis., where they had a real heman vacation, fishing and boating. Margaret and Lorraine went to Mt. Prospect and they also took a trip to Hammond, Ind., where they visited with relatives. John Milinac has been taken to a sanatorium in Waukegan where he will undergo treatment and rest. We certainly wish him a very speedy recovery. Mrs. Milinac was very thrilled recently to receive a call from her son, "Buddy", from Honolulu! ' N . * y? •' Donald Peterson has returned to his unit at Camp Kilmer in New Brunswick, New " Jersey, after a three-week furlough. He expects to be sent to Germany soon. We offer o\ir condolences to Lou Bitterman, whose mother passed away very suddenly last week. The McDermotts have returned from their vacation trip, as have the Kiehl family. Mr. and Mrs. Bffl? tteCteeo and son are spending their vacation at the home of Ann and "Bunny" DeCicco. Monday the family took a trip to St. Anne, 111., to visit the shrine of St. Anne. ---- Terry Brady has left lor n *k at tlie Boy Scout tamp, at Camp Lowden, til. Tefry Seta* fine, Diane Serafine and Elaine Blumenthal gave a little party for him before he left for camp. Eight of his friends enjoyed a marshmellow roast at- Gorney's cottage, and they gave Terry a nice farewell. Eunice Tobey has returned from her vacation trip to Wisconsin, feeling tested and ready to get into the daily grind again. Weekend visitors at the home of Mae Simon were Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Allind of Franklin Park, Mrs. Fred Rumney and son, Robert, of Oak Park, Mr. «r.d Mrs. William Brady and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Allind and daughters of Chicago. Mr. 'and Mrs. Charles Lets of Chicago are spending a two weeks' vacation at the Simon home. „ • EMPLOYMENT TE®fl» Using improved and simplified methods, the Illinois Civil Service Commission has given more examinations, received more, applications and placed more persons on eligible lists for state employment during the first half of this year than in the whole of 1951. In making this announcement, Miss Maude Myers, commission president, expressed appreciation for the help of high schools and colleges, newspapers and radio stations, state agencies, public officials and private citizens in assisting the commission to accomplish these results. The commission has received 9,- 419 applications since Jan. 1, and has placed 5,961 persons on 126 eligible lists.
