It was a very interesting evening. Mrs. John Lathrop, chairman of the Harrison school parent education group, sponsored by the Parent- Teacher association, scheduled the next meeting for Jan. 6 at I the Harrison school at 8 o'clock, the topic of the evening being, "How adult are adolescents " The Harrison school Parent Teacher association is ^stepping right along, with a membership to date of some 312 members. The Dec." 9 monthly meeting will be a Christmas party and the mothers of pupils in Mrs. Oonk's room will be enterta'n- Ing. Hostesses for the evening •re to be Mrs. Roti, Mrs. Meilihg, Mrs. Weisenburger and Mrs. Gustavson. Much hilarity is anticipated in the opening of Christmas gifts to be brought by the members for a suggested •grab bag.' Community singing under the direction of Mrs. James Bell, mCksic chairman, to the accompaniment of Mrs. Prank Chaney, should break the barriers of •restraint,' and get the group to* the Christmas spirit early. We are looking forward to a comical skit by the members. The traveling gypsy basket is on its way with a member of the executive committee putting ki the first item of about $1 value. Members are asked to evaluate the contents and place the amount into the bank. In turn they place an item (baked goods, handicraft or purchased) Into the basket and deliver it t > the next person on the list. ^P.T.A. has gone into drygoods business. T-shirts, sweat shirts, pullovers, crew hats, baseball caps and head scarves will be on display at our meeting and orders can now be taken. These items are of fine quality, reasonably priced, and will make a very useful Christmas gift. The school kitcheft nas recently undergone elaborate and expensive repairs. Beginning' last week and continuing through Dec. 21, members of the League will deliver holiday gifts and greetings to approximately 25,000 persons. On the visiting list are: Municipal Tuberculosis sanitarium and its North Riverside division; Great Lakes Naval hospital; Downey, Hines, Vaughn and Marine^ hospitals; Cook County hospital and its tuberculosis unit: and children's building; Oak: Forest hospital and infirmary; Bethany, Fridhem, Swedish society, Covenant and Norwood Old People's homes; the Salvation Army Catherine Booth Memorial hospital and lodge; Evan*- ston hospital and the Community Hospital of Evanston; Laird Community house; Forty and E i g h t y C o n v a l e s c e n t c e n t e r ; Dunning State hospital; the-A.J. Audy Juvenile home; the Bridewell and Cook County jail. Members of the League of Mercy in Gary, Elgin, Aurora and St. Charles, will visit hospitals, old people's home and jails in theiir respective communities.
