BUlkley, extension forester at the University of Illinois College of Agriculture. A windbreak can give protection in the open spaces between buildings. Bulkley reports that farmers who hare established windbreaks on their farms are enthusiastic about how comfortable they make outside work when north and west winds are blowing. Young Poedtke won top honors in the county American Legion oratorical contest.
