Ratcliff. 60, dau of the Tufts School of Religion, who died at his home In the Massachusetts city Monday, Feb. 23, after a shor- illness. Rev. Ratcliff will be well remembered by many McHenry folks as pastor of the Universalis church here many years ago. It was during his residence in McHenry that he met and married the former Els e Smith. lie had been n member of the Tufts college faculty since IStt and served as dean«of the School of Religion since January, 1946. In 1945 he served as superintendent of Universalist churches, in Massachusetts and was secretary of the Universaiist General Convention from 1938 to 1942. Previous to joiiung tBe Tufts faculty, he held pastorates in Chicago, Halifax, N. Car.. Beverly, Mass., and Rockland. Me. His widow "and two daughters. Mrs. William J. Robb ns of Proivdence,, R. I., and Miss Roselyn Ratcliff, survive. Private services are being held today in the East. On Wed--Jay cf last Secretary of State Charles F. Carpentier issued a charter to the McHenry Township Recreation association, a not. for profit corporation. A charter has also been granted to the Wonder Lake Recreation Center, Inc., also a not for profit organization.
