Twice Told Tales Forty Yean Ago The more enthusiastic automobile owners of this r»lace have been trying out their curs the past week. Quite a number were out Sunday and since then most of the owners have caught the fever. Will McHenry have saloon No. 13 or will the village bo?rd have sand enough to say No? We should think twelve in a town with a population of J,000 would be more than enough. George Hauk, meat cutter in the Water street market, has moved his family into the Miss Rosenberger cottage oil Elm street. The oiling of McHenr y's streets is again beinjgj^gitated by business men and property owners. Tho village council already has an option on a certain quantity of oil and it looks as though 'our streets will again be oiled this spring. Vhe oil shed in the rear of the store occupied by E. Lusk on the west side has b,een, razed and replaced with a Hew bain and store house. Another business change of more than ordinary importance took place here last Saturday when F. L. Colby & Son, the wide awake and progressive implement . and automobile dealers of north Crystal Lake came into possession of the implement business which has been conducted in Center ville during tbe past four years by William Stoffel. The A. T. 6 T. company men who have laeen at work m the vicinity of McHenry for scnu* time past finished their work in these parts Saturday and left the first of the week for Chicago, from which place thoy were shipped to Iowa and other points where the recent storms did so much damage.
