A very lovely stock shower was given last Tuesday evening, June 6, for Alice Becker by a few of her friends. About forty guests were present and Alice received some beautiful gifts for the com ing addition to the Becker family. I regret that I should have to report this, but last week when Mr. Weggener cleaned our small beach and playground, he picked up enough glass, broken and otherwise, to fill a five gallon can! The Lakemoor Jets played ball against' the Brahma's last Sunday afternoon at the McHerry high school baseball diamond and the Jets won 8 to 0. That makes two wins and one loss for the Jets against the Brahma's. The Jets have booked another game for Sunday, June 28, 3 p.m. in McHenry against Bimbo's of Mc- Henry. Last Sunday's game was really a goob one. Try to get out to see the game* -- you'll really enjoy-yourself. The bake sale held last Saturday in Lakemoor, sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary to the fire department was a big success. Mrs. Hyatt, chairman, reports that $85.80 was realised from the sale and the auxiliary is well pleased. We would like to thank all the friends and neighbors who helped to make it such a success. The proceeds m taken away or better yet, take the empty bottles home with you. This matter is not to be taken lightly. If we expect to have a clean playground and beach for our community, we must learn to take care of it properly. Wo would like to thank the business men of Lakemoor for having our beach disced and raked. It really looks nice. The "Jungle Jim" outfit was delivered last week and will soon be put up for the children to play on.
