Attend Open House Ivar Fredricksen and his assistant, Mrs. Betty Selsdorf, were among those present at the Guardian Electric company's open house Monday and at the luncheon on the grounds which followed the tours. Also attending were Ben Davis and Van Sells. The Guardian company, located at routes 47 and 14, is the newest factory at Woodstock and they invited 150 people from businesses in the area to come and see the operation of their factory and to have a buffet luncheon on the lawn. In Tennis Match Lyle Davidson of Wonder Lake Wins Second A float from Wonder Lake took second place in the Class A floats at the McHenry Marine D^y festivities Sunday. It was the entry of the Engvulsen Construction Company of Wonder Lake. Weekend carnival « The Wonder Lake fire district will have its carnival this weekend, starting Thursday and continuing through Sunday. There will be games, refreshments and many things of interest to all ages. The fire district board will be in charge of the carnival. They are Victor Milbrandt, Bud. Mediation and John Feyerer. Walter Schimke is the chief of the department and Rocco Roti is the captain. The fire department needs help very badly and asks for volunteers to * aid them. A delicious course of salad and piping hot rolls was served to her guests, among them being Mrs. Jwdy Rasmussen, Mrs. Jean Smith, Mrs. Leona Benson, Mrs. Elaine Spuehr, Mrs. Peggy Doutlick, Mrs. Jane Widen, Mrs. Lois Mathews, Mrs. Peggy Zandier, Mrs. Harriet Bell, Mrs. Florence Hunt, Mrs. Alice Marion and Mrs. Mary Buggero. The group played canasta during the evening and donated the collection to the Wonder Lake unit of the Memorial Hospital for McHenry county. A total of $11 was contributed. The above group of young women is planning a public card party to be held Aug. 18 at 8 p.m. at the Rolaine Grill for the benefit of the building fund of the hospital. Refreshments will be served and a donation to the fund will be collected. Mrs. Harriet Bell is chairman and serving with her if® Mrs. W BamUer and Mrs. Katie MM. The committee asks that everyone bring a "white elephant" from home, attractively wrapped. The packages will be numbered as they are placed on a table and when the prizes are awarded it will be by numbers and the winner will go to the table and pick the corresponding number as her prize. Gospel Church News The vacation Bible school closed last Friday night, July 31, after a very successful season, with a fine program given by the children on the lawn. The interest was on the increase so that the last day proved to be the largest in attendance and' many children wanted to know i why we did not keep on another week.
