She received many useful kitchen utensils. On Sunday afternoon a shower was given for her at the Community club hall. Hostesses of the afternoon were: Mrs. Rita Miller, Mrs. Betty Freund, Mrs. Doris Freund, Mrs. Violet Freund and Misses Ethel Nell and Dolores Michels. After an enjoyable afternoon of playing games, Miss Freund opened her many lovely gifts. A delicious buffet lunch was served at the close of the afternoon. Miss Freund will become the bride -of William Rutzen on Nov. 14. . - Sandra Lee Palmer celebrated her ninth birthday last, 'Sunday at her home. Those attending were her grandparents of Chicago, a great aunt and uncle of Oak Park, the Jepsens, the Kallenkarks, ^|he Christensens, the Frebergs and also an aunt and cousin from Wisconsin. Mrs. Anna Kalal of Des Plaines visited Marie Wentzel over the weekend. 1st church in McHenry. Sponsor was Mrs. Ray Ozark. Mrs. Thomas served dinner to Mr. and Mrs. Bonynge, Mrs. Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. Mayer, Mr. and Mrs. Nickls and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ouska, Mr, and Mrs. Ozark and family and Sandra and Billy Thomas, some of whom reside in Chicago. The rescue squad boys got together . Sunday afternoon and had themselves a real splashy time. They undertook the job of washing and polishing, the rescue squad truck. The girls went out for lunch and thea attended the matinee of the- very popular Cinerama. Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Lasses .returned recently from a delightful motor trip to Denver, Colo. Rudy reports it was nice to get away but twice as nice to get home again. Don't forget about the Hallowe'en dance at the Community club hall on Oct. 28. Think of something real original and come dressed in costume. It could be a barrel of fun if you get int,o the spirit of things. It isn't necessary to come in costume but it sure would be lots of fun. The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Thomas of Sunnysidc Beach was christened Bruce John at the Community Method- Mr. and Mrs. Emll Boiler of Morton called on her father, Bill Ricks, last weekend. They were very busy on their stay as they gave Bill a hand with washing and putting up the storm doors and windows. At an impressive ceremony held Sunday at the Lodge, twelve new men were initiated. Dr. Sayler was chosen class candidate for the day. The members initiated were Dr. Sayler, Alfred Regner, Paul Fullerton, William R. Hoffman, Gerald Burg, Ted Smith, Tom S. Smith, Ray Ostergren, Walter Nowicki, Carl L. Antonson, Donald Nellis and Robert Nellis. The district degree staff was present to perform the ritual work. After the initiation, food was served and entertainment was supplied by the ever entertaining Brother Moose Matt Schulien. Don't forget the Hallowe'en costume party. Prizes for the best dressed.
