Illinois To Have 9,776 Voting Precincts This Fall Illinois will have a total of 9,776 voting precincts for the November 2 general election this year, a debrease of thirty from the number in the primary election last April, Secretary of State Charles F. Carpentier has announced. A decrease of seventy-eight precincts in Cook county was partially offset 'by increases in five downstate counties, Secretary Caipentier reported.
