The election board has been asked to be at the polls at 5:40 a.m. Candidates wishing to have watchers in polling places election day must secure watchers' credentials from the village clerk, Dick Hyatt, before election <day. Each candidate is permitted by law two watchers. . In order to be eligible to vote wtj the village election of trustees April 19, the following is necessary: The party must live within the village thirty days prior to Che election, in the county of McHenry ninety days and in the state of Illinois one year. At this meeting, Mr. Bitterman, fire chief, accepted the check _ from the organization which was three-fourths of the net proceeds of the dance. Mr. Bitterman gave a short "thank you" speech and then informed us that the firemen are now taking over the |8ocials which were formerly held at Wally's Oasis on Friday evenings. They will now be held at the firehouse on Monday nights at 8 p.m. IThese socials are for the benefit of the fire department. For further information, please contact Mr. Bitterman. The L.I.A. also voted on having its annual' dinner on May 14 at Club Lilymoor. Further details will be discussed at the April meeting. The April meeting will take place April 23 instead of April 16. It will be a' card and' bunco party. Mrs. Buchwalter is to be chairlady for this occasion. Bowling Turnout . ; Last Saturday morning, thirtysix children turned out to go bowling, under the direction of the Kiwanis Club. Latry Cynowa was the champion bowler, with Eddy Ste&dman, Jr., coming in second. In three weeks there will be another bowling day for the children .and I am sure all, the other children will try to come in first. Illness We are all sorry to learn that Mrs. Rogers had a very serious operation at the Lutheran Deaconess hospital in Chicago. She is doing as well as can be expected at the time of this writing and I am sure she would be only to glad to receive a card or letter from her friends in Lakemoor. Soon To Be Married Doris FUhler of Lilymoor will be married April 16 to Steve Stanfel of Spring Grove. Her reception will be held at -Club Lilymoor. General News Mr. and Mrs. Brzezinski had Anne's mother out for the weekend with them and on Sunday Casey's mother and sister were out. Stanley Sohm, dad jof Marcella Foss, was out for the day last Wednesday. Mrs. Claude MoDermott spent three days last week in Danville and Terre Haute with her cousin, Mrs. Nellie Morrison. While visiting, she acquired a new hairdo said a new wardrobe. She also developed a cold but we hope that by this reading she is well over the cold. LITTLE LEAGUE DIAMONDS Several Little League baseball diamonds are to be laid out at the state fairgrounds in Springfield, to accommodate 700 boys who belong to the Springfield Little League and many others reported as wanting to play. Governor William G. Stratton has approved the project as something that will ".prove beneficial to the youngsters." From six to ten playing fields will be laid out. Play on these diamonds will be halted during the state fair. Add sugar gradually, creaming until light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat well. Stir in vanilla extract and cream. Sift together flour, baking powder, spit, and nutmeg. Add to margarine mixture, about one-fourth at a time, mixing well after each addition. Divide dough in halves. Leave one half plain. To other half add cooled melted chocolate and mix well. Fill cookie press and form cookies on ungreased baking sheet. Bake in moderately hot oven (400° F.) 8 to 10* minutes. If desired, decorate cookies with colored sugar before baking. Or the baked cookies may be decorated with confectioners' sugar icing and coconut, nuts, or candied fruits.
