Geuthier, marketing specialist at the University of Illinois. Protein foods, which Ordinarily .take the biggest chunk of the family food bill, aire expected to be most plentiful. Pork will top the list, followed by beef, eggs, dairy proijsots and fish. Canned com and canned snap beans are expected to be the most plentiful Vegetables and fresh and processed oranges, grapefruit, raisins aixd dried prunes the most plentiful fruits. Ijtice, lard and vegetable fats will round out the list. According to the Department of . Agriculture, the larger supplies of pork and lard come from a fall pig crop that is about 16 per cent larger than that of a year ago. Generous numbers of grain-fed beer cattle are expected tp go to market during April from midwest feedlofcs. Spring is always accompanied by increased production of milk and eggs.
