Gospel Church News The anniversary services, April 19 to 24, proved a real blessing to us ail. A large number of people" were attracted, especially to the services on Thursday evening and on Sunday. The evangelist, the Rev. A. J. T'orwall of Minneapolis, Minn., won his way into the hearts of all. His messages were thoroughly scriptural, heart-searching and challenging ana the musical program was very exceptional. Among the founders who attended was Miss Margaret Kott of Harrisburg, Pa. Next Sunday, May 1, Holy Communion is held! at the morning service at 11. The Rev. Lincpln., 5 Clubine, formerly missionary to the Philippine Islands, will be the guest speaker at both morning, and evening services. The monthly meeting at Christian Haven * will be at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Hospital Auxiliary Everybody enjoys a party and \vh'en it was as friendly and successful as 'the one held recently at Harrison school, everyone had a good 'time. The party was given under the sponsorship of the Wonder Lake unit of the women's auxiliary of the Memorial hospital for McHenry county. The directors of the unit are Mrs. Lillian Belphaw, Mrs. Neva Fuhrer, Mrs f -- Simone Puller and Mrs. Dorothy McEachren. Over $275 was realized for the unit's sfc&re toward <the* additional sum pledged by the auxiliary during the recent hospital drive. Over 200 persons attended and various games of five hundred, bridge, canasta, pinochle, samba and bunco were played. Over seventy prizes were gdven out. If the same cooperation andresponse from members and nonmembers of the auxiliary is forthcoming, there is no reason for not making it an annual affair. With the new rooms of the school available, the community now has a convenient and logical place to stage community affairs with a large crowd can be accommodated.
