One of the junior auxiliary members who (attended the junior auxiliary convention at Springfield. gave us a detailed and extremely humorous report on the event. Our narrator was "Cookie" Miller, Who with the other delegate, i Janice Mikota, was accompanied on the trip by her mother, Mrs. Chuck Miller, and Mrs. Ruth Mraschek. Minnie Green is this year's Department of Illinois junior activities chairman . Ethel (Mrs. Ray) MeGee introduced the four junior contest winners and their teachers. The subject of the contest was "What America Means to Me." Our Mc- Henry winners were Jacqueline Moss, teacher. Miss Stevens; Barbara Schroeder, teacher, Miss Wright; Judy Kolar, teacher, Mrs. Bolger, not present; and Diane Rietesel, teacher, Mrs. McGee. Initiation About fifteen new members were formally initiated into our organization in a beautifully impressive ceremony. The eleventh district meeting at Joliet was attended by Minnie Green, Christirte Krinn and G. Soucie. Betty Duff was endorsed as department historian candidate. Lil (Mrs. Nick) Miller reported that at the last Downey hospital party a young colored patient was discovered to be a fine pianist. He will add his talents to those of others at the hospital. Mrs. Pietsch gave him the opportunity to display his ability on the piano. Past President's Parley The semi-annual past president's parley dinner at Woodstock was attended by five of our McHenry past presidents. They were Christine Krinn, Min Green, Pearl Pietsch, Julia Hecht and Pearl Nerstad. > Delegates were selected to attend the Department of Illinois convention at Springfield over the ^abor. Day weekend. Officers were elected for the ensuing year and that just about finishes the long list of business disposed of at this meeting. Dorothy M.
