How to Join a Blouse and Skirt; Live Wires, Choosing a Trim; Handy Helpers, Outdoor Cooking; Ringwood Sunshine Club, Cooking Dempngtration; Wonder Workers, Handicraft; G.o-Getters, Baking ^ Biftjwnies; Eager Beavers. A number of lofcal auxiliary members and members of the Legion post are making plans to attend this convention. The meetings will last from Oct. 10 through 13. Preparations are already going forward in the Florida c|ty, with j large committees of auxiliary members and Legionnaires at work. Auxiliary meetings will be held in Miami Beach, while the: Legionnaires will hold their sessions in Miami proper. i In 'addition to the business activities, a full program of sightseeing, entertainment and social events is being prepared for the American Legion and auxiliary visitors. It was killed instantly. A passerby said he saw a! holt of lightning strike the barn' and heard a heavy crash. Firemen concentrated on saving the farm home 'and other surrounding buildings. Livestock and most machinery were saved Jbut the unofficial loss was estimated Monday at $100,000. The barn, constructed in 1952, contained 5.000 bales of hay, 1,000 bales of strdw and a large amount of grain. MINNIE SHERRARD. LONG TIME BAY RESIDENT. DIES Mrs. Minnie Sherrard, 84, a long time resident of Pistakee Bay and widow o£ Robert Sherrard, a former Oak Park postmaster, died in Elgin Thursday. Survivors include a son, Alfred, and two sisters, Mrs. Rose Ulm of La Porte, Ind., and Mrs. Linda Saunders of Los Angeles, Calif. The body rested at the George Justen & Son funeral home, where services were conducted at 11 o'clock Monday. SUMMER THEATRE ENDS The first season of summer theatre at the Woodstock Opera House ended July 31, short of the originally scheduled ten weeks of performances. Plans have,been made 'to return next year. A number of McHenry foliks enjoyed these summer theatre treats and were high in their praise for the talents of the professional casts.
