Wilburn, manager for Illinois Bell Telephone company in this area, retires thf§"' month with nearly fifty years of service. Besides top telephone officials, civic leaders, and friends and associates, Wilburn was feted by five mayors and a city manager. Spokesman for the mayoral group was James Cooney of Woodstock. He said Wilburn was "retiring from the Bell System but we hope not from civic af- j j fairs." | "I remember the first time I j met George," Cooney recalled. "He already had thirty years of security behind him but had seen a lot of mayors come and go." He commented that although Wilburn headed one of the biggest businesses in Woodstock, he was "never too busy to say 'hello'." Mr. and Mrs. John Unti and Mr. and Mrs. Gus Unti attended the funeral of Miss Lora Unti in Daytona Beach, > Fia., on Tuesday. The Elmer Antonson family is vacationing in Pontiac, Mich., this week. Mrs. Robert Belzer and daughter, Chris, of Galesburg are visiting her. parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gunnar Wallinder, this week. Mr. Belzer was a weekend guest. Mrs. Richard Stenger and daughter, Susie, of San Carlos, Calif., have been spending several days with her mother, Mrs. William Spencer and other relatives here. RITES HELD ON SATURDAY FOR BAY RESIDENT Funeral services were held at 9:30 o'clock Saturday morning from St. John's church, Johnsburg, for Mrs. Catherine Schultz, 78, who died in her Pistakee Bay home Aug. 10. Burial was in St. Adelbert's cemetery, Chicago. Mrs. Schultz was born March 5, 1877, in Wisconsin and lived in Chicago until 'coming to the Bay to make her permanent home six years ago. Survivors include a son, Andrew J., of Wisconsin, a daughter, Helen Simko, of the Chicago area, two brothers and two sisters. Her husband, Andriew J., preceded her in death.
