Mr. and Mrs. Charles Freund and sons, Dan and Vic, joined in 1 family reunion at the Paul Oeraseh home in McHenry on enjoying two weeks' with his parents, Mr. and Mrs John Jung. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Freund and Mr. and Mrs. George A. May returned from a trip to Washington, D.C. last Monday. They visited Tom Freund. now Frater Nicholas, S.D.S., at Divine Saviour seminary, Lanham, Md., while there. They also had three days of sight-seeing in Washington and went to all places of interest, such as Capitol Building, White House, Smithsonian Institute, Arlington cemetery, Mt. Vernon, "the Franciscan Monastery and Catacombs and went through the buildings at Catholic university, where Frater Nicholas is studying for the priesthood. It was most inspiring, too, that they could attend Holy Mass every morning at the National Shrine. On their return trip they travelled through Shenandoah National park on Skyline drive through the Blue Ridge mountains While in Washington they also visited the George McGrath family at Georgetown. Rev. John Daleiden and the ushers held their regular meeting at the home of Jerry Miller day night as Richmond high school band was performing in the Mardi Gras at Riverview that night. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Sheil of Waufkegan are the happy parents of a 5 lb. 9 oz. son, born at Victory Memorial hospital, Waukegan, Monday, Aug. 22. Mrs. Sheil is the former Sharon Freund. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Brown and family are visiting relatives in Iowa and Minnesota this week. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Miller and son, Jerry, spent; the past three days with friends in Milwaukee, Wis. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Smith enjoyed a two-week vacation at the Wisconsin Dells. They returned home Monday. Mrs. Charles Freund, sons, Dan and Vic, Jimmy May and Dr. and Mrs. L. L. KSgan and family enjoyed a picnic supper and a swim at Lake Benedict on Thursday evening. Mrs. Mary Jane Malecki and daughter, Phyllis, of Lombard visited Mrs. Shirley Dawson several days last week.
