The meetings are interesting and informative and everyone is urged to attend. Open forum follows meeting. Fire Department The fire department is grateful to everyone for saving papers. There will be another pick-up in about three weeks, and please continue saving them. Also more help will be needed on the next collection. Please get in touch with Frank Bitterman. Thursday Socials The Thursday night socials are being held at Wally's Oasis every Thursday at 8:30. Everyone is welcome to attend. House Committee A house committee meeting will be held on Friday, Dec. 2. at 9 p.m. at the fire department community house. P.T.A. The Lily Lake P.T.A. will hold its meeting* on Thursday, Dec. 1, at 8 p.m. at the schoolhouse. The members are urged to attend, as several matters will come up for discussion. at Arlington Heights but for Diane Kibbe, who had the misfortune of spraining her wrist that night. Six other churches were represented and joined them in their fun. Lost tand Found Please call Ann Brzezinski for a rhinestone earring lost at the firemen's dance. Doable Reason The Cynowa family had a double reason for enjoying Thanksgiving. Chipper was able to' be home on that day, and returned to the hospital on Friday. £ Ladies League The Ladies League will hold a meeting on Wednesday, Dec. .7, at 8 p.m. at the fire department community house. The annual Christmas dinner will be held at the Vogue on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m. Following the dinner there will be a grab bag and cards and bunco played at the fire house. Brownies The Brownies are completing the corsages for Christmas. They will be out selling them in about a week. The proceeds of this sale are to build up their fund.^ Bowling Saturday, Dec. IT, will be the last day for bowling for children, sponsored by the Kiwanis club. McHenry Bible Church Donald Kibbe was in charge of the meeting held on Sunday, Nov. 27, for the B.C. Teens. The "B.C. Teens had fun roller skating Thanksgiving .News Mr. and Mrs. Hank Parrato: and children and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Czajkowski from Lakeland Park enjoyed their dimler with the Frank Pogany family. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Harder enjoyed their dinner with their daughter, Mrs. Tetrow, and her husband, Walter, and their two children. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sarleys' guests for the day were Dr. and Mrs. Erwin Sarley and children. Dr. and Mrs. Vincent Sarley and children and Mr. and Mrs. Sol Weiss of Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Cammarata enjoyed the day with Mr. and Mrs. Philip Cammarata and family, Mrs. Srimenti, their daughter, and her husband, Sam, and children, and Mrs. Patsy Fasciana and daughter. Jesse and Olive Corbett were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Coleman at Fox Lake. The Harold Foss home was buzzing with the following company, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Foas, Mrs. Alice Wade, Marcella's father, Stanley Sohm, who is spending a few days with them, also her sister, Mrs. Gertrude Conti, and son, Billy, of Wald Lake, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. Peter Sohm and family of Chicago, Mr. and Aj,rs. Stanley Sohm, Jr., and family of Arlington Heights, Brother Raymond Sohn of Chicago and Brothers Eugene Sohm, Donavon and Henry from Milwaukee. Mi's. Conti also spent a couple days with the Foss family. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Hyatt enjoyed their dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Hyatt, Jr., and family, Vernon and Gertie Freund, Joe Yaeger, Marilyn Venable and I her fiance, Jack Strasser. ! How often have you blessed your thoughtful hostess for serving a light dessert at the end of a hearty holiday meal? When you want to be praised for Berving a dessert that is festive, yet light, try this one. Delicious Eggnog Tapioca Cream, topped with bits of green and red candied fruit, is in tne holiday mood, yet it meete the need of so many who do not care for heavy desserts. Eggnog Tapioca Cream 2 egg whites teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons sugar 3 tablespoons sugar ; 2 egg yolks 1 cup light cream l'j cups milk 14. teaspoon nutmeg 3 tablespoons quick-cooking 1 tablespoon sherry or tapioca sherry extract Beat egg whites until foamy throughout; add 2 tablespoons sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, and continue beating with rotary beater until mixture will stand in soft peaks. Set aside. Mix cooking tapioca, Place' constantly--this takes 5 to 8 minutes. Pour small amount of .hot tapioca mixture gradually on beaten egg whites, blending well. Then quickly add the remaining mixture, stirring constantly. (The hotter the tapioca and the faster it is blended in, the thicker and fluffier the pudding will be.) Add nutmeg and sherry. Cool, stirring one?" after 15 to 20 minutes. Chill. Serve plain or sprinkle with nut meats, sbaved chocolate, additional nutmeg, or diced candied fruit. Makes 5 or 6 servings. Sonny, who enjoyed his Thanksgiving vacation with a deer hunt, is returning to school on Sunday. Mac is still away deer hunting. They also enjoyed the company of their uncle, Jeff Hatch, of Eau Claire, Wis. The Casey Brzezinskis enjoyed their dinner with Casey's mother, father and sister, Vicky, and his cousin, Mrs. Helen Buzinski, and husband, Ed. Freund on their twenty-tfifth wedding anniversary Nov. 26. The occasion was celebrated on Nov. 19 at St. Peter's hall, with approximately 300 guests present to extend congratulations a'nd good wishes to the happy couple. A supper ^ was served at 6, tables were decorated to suit the occasion and a large wedding cake graced the center of the bride's table. Dancing was the evening's entertainment and the highlight of entertainment was a mock wedding. This "production" was put on by men. The bride and groom, bestmen and bridesmaids, flower girl and pa and ma took their parts^ very well and caused many a laugh. Their '•way-toack-when" attire added to the comedy of their pdtformance. Bouquets and boutonniers were ears of corn and husks, with a few pheasant feathers. Mr. and Mrs. Freund were the happy recipients of many lovely gifts., Guests were present from Sharon, Wis., Park Ridge, Belvidere, Waukegan, Chicago, McHenry, Richmond and Johnaburg and many local people. Our best wishes and congratulations are extended to Mr. and Mrs. Peter May on their fortyfifth wedding anniversary Nov. 24, Thanksgiving day. Members of their family were all present for the occasion. The day was Appropriately opened with a mass at 8:30 at St. Peter's church. Turkey dinner was served at their home with their children and grand children, totaling approximately thirty guests present. Mr. and Mrs. Edward May and family, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold May and family, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred May and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Boppart and family of Woodstock. Phil Parfrey has left • Korea and is on his way home, expecting to arrive in the very near future. Christian Mothers meeting was held at St. Peter's hall last Thursday evening. Plans were made for a Christmas party to /be held on, Dec. 15. A pot-luck supper will be N served and there will be a dollar gift exchange. After the meeting, cards and bunco were played and prizes went to Mrs. Frank Tinney, Mrs. Charles Freund^ Mrs. Ray May, Mrs. Yvonne Arnold, Mrs.. Jane Schneider and Mrs. Mary Smith. Lunch was served. Miss, Judy Halliday, who is in nurse's training at Cleveland, Ohio, is spending Thanksgiving at her home here. Students home for#Thanksgiving were Leigh and Pat Kagan, Frank "Bud" Tinney and Bill Smith from Salvatorian seminary at St. Nazianz, ,Wis., Miss Catherine Tinney from Our Lady of Angels academy, Clinton, Iowa, John Sheets and Allen Meyer from the University of Illinois. Dr. and Mrs. Ford and family left for Seattle^ Wash., several weeks ago, where Doc is now stationed. f. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Freum and' family attended the wedding of Renee Kalsch and Bob Freun# at the Legion hall in McHenry on Saturday. The firemen were summoned to the Harry Herman farm at 12:30 a.m. Sunday. A fire had started in the barn and was noticed by Joseph P. Freund while passing by. He awakened the Hermans and an alarm was sent out for the fire department, who responded immediately. The fire was put out before much damage was done. ' '?
