Grace churches gave the^ Easter portion of Handel's "Messiah." Reports from the audience were that the evening of music was an enjoyable one. The choir had fun doing it, and everyone enjoyed the cookies served in the basement afterward, with the delicious coffee made by Myra Speaker. Mrs. Victor Oesterling directed the choir. Soloists were Mrs. Robert Gardner, soprano, Mrs. Harold Carlson, alto, Owen Richardson, tenor, and Robert Gardner, bass. Parts of the cantata were recorded. Have you ever heard yourself sing? The dinner will be at the Legion hall, " With serving starting at 5:30 p.m. Palm Sunday Cantata Sunday evening the combined choirs of the Community and Here and There Mr. and Mrs. Donald Tilton and family visited Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Schmidt of Harvard last week. The Schmidts have a new baby boy whom they have n^med Donny, after Donald Tilton. The Donald Tilton family visited Mrs. Clem Tilton last Wednesday. Walter Pretzman has been in Natchez, Miss., where he delivered fire fighting equipment. He has also been to New Orleans, La., on business. We hope he has had some nice, warm weather down South. Mrs. Kline, a patient at Solon Manor, died Saturday morning at the rest home. Her daughter and son-in-law are Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wohnrade of Wonder Lake. She was at the Ehorn funeral home Sunday and was buried in Moline, 111., Tuesday. There are several more names to add to the list of kids with chicken pox -- Bobby and Janice Harris and Peggy Hoffman. Mary Wittmayer returned home last Friday for Easter vacation from Northfield, Minn. It's nice to have our college students home for the holiday. Some of our young people from high school did very well at the contest last Saturday. Congratulations to all of them. Church News The Senior Youth Fellowship showed the classic motion picture portrayal of the last week in the life of our Lord, as they presented "King of Kings" at the Ringwood church Sunday evonigg. A group of Alcoholics Anonymous showed the motion picture, "One Day at a Time," the story of the founding of the organization at the Ringwood church on Monday evening. The Ringwood Junior Youth fellowship met at the home of Donald Ackerman Wednesday evening. On Maundy Thursday, the members and friends of both churches will meet at the Ringwood church at 8 p.m. to partake of a "Meal in the Upper Room." This will be a supper commemorating the last supper our Lord and His Disciples shared. If you plan to share in the meal, either register in the church lobby or call Mrs. Robert Decker. There will be facilities for infants and children at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Walkington, across from the church.
