Jsnice, daughter of Mr.: and Alfred Oeffling, was wed last Saturday morning to Ed Tonyan of McHenry. The couple repeated their marriage vows at John's ' church at the 9:30 iss, with Fr. Joseph Blitsch performing the rite. . Marines! Here They Come! . Jim Jackson, Don Weber and Tom Oeffling said goodbye to their relatives and friends for awhile last Monday. The boys have joined the Marines and left for California to undergo their first phase of training. The boys are the sons of the Ford Jackports, the Martin Webers and the Alfred Oefflings. Best of luck fellows. Bowling Finals Last Thursday evening, the Ladies' league finished up their season of bowling with the doubles event. The three top partners are as follows: First, Rosemary Young and Zelda Malochleb; second, Betty Freund and Betty Schmitt; and third, Marjorie Skaling and Marge Voase. The ladies will hold their banquet in Carpentersville at 7:30 on April 12. A short meeting and voting of new officers for next season will take place following the dinner. Be Sure To Vote . Next Saturday, April 14, at the Johnsburg public school. Exercise your right to vote and vote as you see fit. Visits Husband Mrs. Lois Thelen had the good fortune of being able to fly down to San Antonio, Texas, to visit her husband over the Easter weekend. Harry is stationed with the Army at Fort Sam Houston. In the next week or so, he is due to leave for Fort Dix, N.J., where he will await embarkation for Italy. Lois left by plane on Friday evening and returned home early Monday morning. Attends Conference Eleven ladies from St. Agatha's Court, Na 777, attended the Roekford Diocesan conference in Aurora last Sunday. The ladies enjoyed a delicious dinner after which a meeting was held. Tliere were quite a few of the McHenry court present and all the ladies enjoyed visiting with persons from the different courts. Present from our court were Mesdames Marilyn Miller, Virginia Pitzen, Helen Hettermann, Martha Freund, Hilda Thelen, Marilyn Thelen, Mary Hiller, Anita Freund, Elseda Fuchs, and two of out court's newest members, Lu Oeffling and Ethel Heim. * Around the Town Mr. and Mrs. Walter Pinnow of Crystal Lake, Mr. and .Mrs. Steve Donnellan and daughter of Chicago and Mr. and Mrs. Don Monte and family were dinner guests at the Art Thelen home to these three | on Easter Sunday. j Mrs. Dolores Ludford and sons 1 of Northbrook spent the Easter weekend at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Thelen. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Boyk and family of Chicago spent last weekend at the Ed Hettermann home. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Frye and friends of River Grove spent Saturday evening here. About 100 persons enjoyed an evening's enjoyment at the Community club last Monday evening. The music was out of this world for modern and square dancing. Tommy and Joey Lasser of Chicago spent all last week visiting their grandparents, the Rudy Lassers. Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Fischer entertained weekend guests at their home recently. Charles Hiller returned to his college studies last week. His brother, Dick, drove him to St. Paul, Minn. , A Reminder On<«e again I would like to-remind you to get your reservations in for the annual Forester banquet ,of St. "Agatha's court at Hettermann's on April 17 at 6:30 p.m. Be sure to call either 1293-R or l274-M not later than April 15. Installation of officers will follow the dinner in St. John's school hall. Silver Anniversary Congratulations are in line for Mr. and Mrs. Leo Hiller, who will observe their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary next Saturday, April 14. A niass will be read in their honor at St. John's church. Many relatives and friends will extend their congratulations at the Community club hall later in the day. Incorporation Results The election held in Sunnyside Estates last Saturday voted in favor of the incorporation. A total of 107 votes \yere cast, with 58 in favor and 42 against and some spoiled ballots. Sunnyside Estates is the newest village- of many which are being incorporated within the county. M. RAD! Fire Calls Last week the Johnsburg fire department answered three calls in the subdivision. Thursday morning they were called to Pistakee Highlands to put out a gras$ fire near the Van JJerran home. Friday afternoon, another grass fire took them to Hue-, mann' subdivision and late Friday night found the fire fighters back in Pistakee Highlands fighting a large brush fire. j-./--.. Public Party Come on to St. John's school hall nextv Sunday evening at 8 o'clock and enjoy another of the public parties put on by the Christian Mothers. Proceeds go to the new school building fund. Honored With Party Jim Jackson, one of the three newest Marines from here, was honored with a going-away party at the home of his parents, the Ford Jacksons, last Wednesday evening. About forty-five relatives and friends attended the party to bid Jim farewell for a little while.
