The village truck has been completed with a cage and the dogs wil be picked up. A very fine dinner was enjoyed by the members and guests of the L.I.A. on Saturday, May 26, at their fifth annual dinner k Club Lilymoor. A short meeting followed the dinner and election of officers. The members elected for the coming year are: Richard Hyatt, president; Mrs. Ann Brzezinski, secretary-treasurer; Joseph Yaeger, Mrs. OtheJo Brady and Mrs. Marcella Foss, , trustees; Mrs. Claude McDermott and Harry Brady, house committee. Installation of officers will take place in the near ' Ifcture. A very successful year is wished for all. The next L.I.A. meeting will be on Wednesday, June 13, at 8 p.m. Girl Scouts v A father-daughter coffee party will be held on Sunday, June 10. from 1 to 3 p.m. Hie Girl Scouts made up very attractive invitations, complete with a new handkerchief to fit father's coat pocket. Brownies The new Brownies will be invested on Tuesday, June 12. The mothers are invited to attend. "Hie June 12 meeting will be "field at the fire house from 10 to 11 a.m. On Tuesday, June" 19, there will be a short meeting, and the rest Of the day will be spent having fun at a picnic at Deerhaven at Fox Lake Hills. Parker of the U.S. Marine Corps recruiting station in Chicago on the eight boys of the village that enlisted in the Marines. Also Sonny McDermott returned to Camp Pendleton, ^ceanside, Calff., after a two- Week furlough. Cub Scouts The following boys from Den i 7 marched in the Memorial Day parade: Ricky Foss. Last Tuesday Participating in a very entertaining program, "Music Keeps Your Life in Tune,' presented by music puplts -and the junior ami senior choirs of* St. Mary's, were Dolores and Kathleen1' Hyatt, grandchildren of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Hyatt, Janyce and Gayle Bonder, Cheri Shappert and Katharine Brzezinski. Graduates Attending the Baccalaureate service on Sunday, June 3, at the McHenry high school were Marlene Ehrhardt, Dale O'Leary, Thelma Neff, Elaine Gustafson, Judy DeCicco and Norman Falk. We wish you graduates a verybright and successful future. It Was Raining Bridal gifts on Marilyn Venable last Tuesday. The shower was given by Gertie Freund at Mrs. Hyatt's home. A light' luncheon was served and games played by many of Marilyn's friends. Wedding bells will ring on June 30, when Marilyn will become Mrs. Jack Strasser. Attending Graduation Of Kathleen and Kenneth Hyatt at St. Patrick's school last Sunday were their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Hyatt. Bowling News ' Last Sunday the Lakeside men's team and - the Lakeside women's team bo\vled together in a match game. The men are happy to report they beat the women by 78 pins. Better luek, ladies, on your next game. - Teen Dance And the young people can chalk up another successful dance they enjoyed last Sunday. Chaperones at the party were Mr. and Mrs. A1 Godina. The boys were on the refreshment committee. The date of the next dance will be announced in the paper. Mcflenry Bible Church Vacation Bible school will begin Monday morning, June 11, with a parade from the high school to the church at 8:30 a.m. The school will last two weeks and classes are from 9 to 12. Children from 3 to 15 years are welcome to attend. Children from Lakemoor, please wait at the fire house everyday at 8:30; those from Lilymoor, wait at the Lily Lake school at 8:40, to be picked up. The Bible church will appreciate getting Graduating From St. Mary's school last Sunday was James Brady. James also finished his year by being on the honor roll. Attending his graduation party were William Heeht of MeCullom Lake. Mr. and Mrs. John Hrdlicka of Oak Park and the following guests from Chicago: Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Hlavacek, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hihtz and son, Gregory, Josephine, Margaret and Nellie Sullivan. A delicious dinner was enjoyed by everyone. On The Mend Denny Kosup, is still recuperating at home. He burned his hand at \Vork two weeks ago. Not too long ago Mrs. Edna Petiak, one tit 'our fairly neiv residents, spent a week at St. Therese hospital after an automobile accident. She is home from the Swedish Covenant hospital this week following an accident she had at RivervieW Park. Norman Morrison is; feeling better and is spending some time every day in the wheel chair. The cards and letters he receives from his friends brighten some bf those days very much. He is at the'Highwood hospital in Highwood. James Hansen is hobbling around on crutches after a foot operation. > Mrs. Kate Wegener is feeling a- little better but is still bedridden. Memorial Day picnic was enjoyed by the Ted Beahler family, Melvin Hatch family, Stan Zabroski family and the Ed Mars family from McHehry. All the folks sang "Happy Birthday" to Chuck Zabroski and enjoyed the birthday cake along with the rest of the "fixings." Mrs. Nettie Sarlfcy celebrated her birthday on Sunday, June 3, with her family. Kathy Ehredt was 2 years old last week. Mrs. Ehiedt is a sister to Mrs. Viena Bryan. Mrs. Mary Ambrose celebrated her .birthday on Sunday at the Patellaro home. Mrs. Ambrose is Virgio Patellaro's sister. Other guests at the party were Stanley Ambrose, Mrs. Shirley Gasche and Rosemary Salmone of Chicago, and Roy and Rita Erickson. A very happy birthday to all and the best of everything.
