Belated Congratulations To Ray and Elsie Cynowa, on their "china" anniversary. They we^e married twenty years on July 4. Norman Morrison is coming along fine after his serious accident several weeks ago, but it will take several more weeks to be his old self again. Weekend company at the Erickson home were Rita's brother, Charles Fellows, and family. Karen Neff left Sunday for Westfield, Wis., to spend a few days with her grandfather. Genene and Diane Dember, nieces of the Brzezinskis, spent five days vacationing last week. Ray and Elsie Cynowa and family attended a graduation party for their nephew, Ronald Turk, two weeks ago. Ronald graduated from Wright Junior college; Frankie and Steve Klavinski vacationed for a week at the Erickson home last week. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Hyatt spent several days at Fox Lake, Wis., , and the Dells. Sorry to hear the weather was much too cool for their vacation. Frank Harder took himself away for two days from his beautiful flowers to visit his son, Harold, and family in Chicago last week. Othele Brady, Lyda Diedrich, Steph Szarek and Edith Blake spent a wonderful day in Wisconsin last week Thursday. Vacationing at the Walter Para home last week were Helen's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Murzyn, and their daughter, Mrs. Ben Wojton, and family. Ted Beahler and daughter, Lorrie, and Mike Hatch and James Hansen spent two days last week at Wisconsin Dells visiting the colorful and interesting places. Weekend company at the Kunz home were Emma's mother, Mrs. Agnes Wright, and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard EarU and family from Chicago. Enjoying a picnic at the Harold Foss home last Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. A1 Yochim and family from Villa Park, Mr. and Mrs. Fred DeGrasse and family from Aurora, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Yahnke and family from Chicago. Wonderful Vacations Mr. and Mrs. Williard Mix and Mrs. Mix's sister and brother- in-law, Delia and Carl Passage, returned from a two-week fishing trip on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Passage are from Hobard, Ind. Mrs. Mix has never been fishing before, so her sister taught her all the secrets of the' "know how." As a result, the women caught more fish than the men. The biggest catch was sixty-thc$e good-sized blue gills and perch in three hours. The highlight of the trip, which caused excitement in Fishers camp, Caldron Falls Lake, Atherstorte, Wis., was when Mrs. Mix caught an 18- I inch northern pike on an ordinary hook with a worm for bait. Oh yes, they took a picture (hope it turns out). Looks like the men will have to do some practicing to keep up with gals. Mr. and Mrs. John Kraus and Julie's mother, Mrs. Dorothy Yurk, spent a wonderful week with Julia's uncle, John T. Kober, at Moose Jaw Sask,- Canada, and another week at Sheboygan, Wis., with relatives and friends. John would like to have done some fishing, but every time he got started fishing, the rain would come along to keep him company. The Larry Boosters and their children and Mrs. Myrtle Booster enjoyed a motor trip with their brand new car. They covered 6,500 miles in two weeks. They visited with Jean's cousin, Jane Wysch, in Palo Alto, Calif., and with Mrs. Elda Herman and daughter in Los Angeles. And here are just some of the places they visited on their trip, Black Hills, S.D., Yellowstone National park, Mormon Tabernacle in Salt Lake City, Yosemite National park in California, San Francisco, Disneyland. Village l^ews It is the hope and desire of residents in this community to obtain all the improvements possible without additional taxes levied. Knowing how limited our village budget is, I arri wondering how many residents would really care enough to contribute either time or money to improve our lake. Since the shore line was dredged this spring, it has created quite a few floating bogs from the loose weeds and is most difficult to clean with rakes and boats. It will require an operation that will cost money. This can only be done through contributions from each home owner, Marceila Foss, who is spearheading this program, would appreciate volunteers to aid her in making a canvass of the property owners to raise a fund for this purpose. If enough peoples will volunteer, the job will take very little time.
