Colonial Georgian in design, the building is designed to harmonize with the residential district in which it is located. Focal point of the main banking lobby'is a Mosler Century-IQ vault door styled by industrial dp,signer Henry Dreyfuss. ^"Modern lines and a gleaming expanse of stainless steel make the door ideal for the trend in bank architecture which has brought the vault door out of the basement to a location where it can be seen and admired by the public, Gerald J. Carey, president, said. The huge door is engineered to give maximum protection against «:e as well as against all known ethods of attack, ' including sledges, explosives, drills, and torches. "The door's massive beauty symbolizes strength and security to our customers," Carey said. ' A combination of brick and stone trim, tKe new building is set back on a landscaped plot. A great future is in store for America and concrete will play an important part in that future. "Ready-mixed concrete" is concrete proportioned in the plant of a ready- mix producer and delivered by truck to the construction site. The mixing of the concrete is usually completed on the truck in transit. The McHenry Ready-Mix Co., Inc., has become a specialist in this field of concrete development. Since the birth of the organization, some ten years ago, it has played an important part in the building-boom of Lake and McHenry Counties^ The McHenry Ready-Mix Co., Inc., employs specialists to properly proportion ready-mixed concrete. For without proper proportioning, concrete will become utterly useless. Because of a reputation of high withstanding, the McHenry Ready-Mix Co., Inc., was selected to begin the important work in the construction of the McHenry State Bank. - ' -- The McHenry State Bank, including its walls, floors and vault, is constructed entirely with reinforced concrete. Engineers, in designing concrete structures, place steel bars in the concrete to give it added strength. This combined structural material is known as reinforced concrete. McHenry Ready-Mix Co.
