Jr. Teen Club Meeting The junior teens will have their "ext meeting on Thursday afternoon, Nov. 8 at 501 Shore Drive. Be sure to come! Trickers Treated Eighty pint-sized clowns, tramps and witches were on the prowl on Allhallow Eve on their way to the festivities held in their honor on Jliniii the Cina driveway. The LPPOA Teen club, under the direction of Frank Parisi, showed the little ones a Halloween good time. Prizes were given to those with the most elaborate, comical and original costumes. A sweet little angel, a lovely, demure bride, and stunning Miss Bo-Peep, known respectively as Dianne Krater, Donny Prazek anil Mark Bartos, took the honors as most elaborate. Pamela Missel, as a charming little scare crow, Debbie Leigh, a pert pink bunny, and Tommy Reinhardt, a tiny comical clown, were the winners in the most comical costumes. Bob Dietz, Josephine Cina and Billy Krater vied and won the prizes for wearing the most original costumes. Bob dressed as a debonair Parisian Artist, Josephine came as a gay pajama clown, and Billy Krater costumed as a colorful peppermint sticks --, The diminutive pranksters shbWed off their be"witch"ing finery in a parade around the driveway and later took part in the potato race which caused many a mask, wig, or unattached piece of costume to go flying and forgotten in the contestants rush to win a prize. Treats were passed to all after a try at the hot potato game and then all the tired little devils, scare crows, etc., went home with their loot. Later in the evening, around sixty medium sized hobo's, skeletons, and ghosts came for their share of fun. After their parade, several participants were chosen and among them there were three winners for the most elaborate costumes and three winners for the most comical costumes chosen by popular applause. Donald Parisi as a handsome Chinese, Cynthia Grota very pretty Martha .Washington, and Janice Parisi as a charming Chinese lady, topped the group with the most elaborate costumes. Michael McEnery, one of the comical costume winners was about the most gruesome character present. He not only had a hideous mask on, he completed his costume with a knife stuck in his back, complete with a red looking substance which we hope wasn't blood. The other two comjcal costume winners were Carol Ann Zimny who came as a very realistically looking scarecrow--straw hair and hands, arms straight out on a board, and tattered clothing-- and John Parisi, dressed as a jail WORWICK'S --McHenry Camera- Center Cameras Photographic Equipment Amateur and Professional Bought, Sold and Exchanged PHOTO SUPPLIER View Masters and Reels Color Films Processed Family Albums See Us Before You Buy Worwick's Studio 117 N. The boys were given wallets as prizes while the ladies took home pen and pencil sets. After the awarding of the costume prizes, the ghosts and goblins had a gay time running the potato races. Next they tried their hand (or should we say legs) at the three-legged race. The last game, before a shower sent the masqueraders home, was a race for baseball bats with the winner taking home the bat. Prizes and treats were passed out then to complete a most Successful Hallowe'en evening of fun. A hearty "Thanks" to Frank and the teenagers who did a grand job and I'm sure the children will remember the evening for a long, long time and are no doubt, already planning their costumes for next year. Another "thank fou" should go to all who donated candy, fruit, "prizes, money and what have you. Who Was It? There were three late comers on the "Trick or Treat" circuit, and they deserve mention here because of their generosity. Many of you were probably serenaded on Hallowe'en by the "Hallowe'en String Trio" who brought their cu^s along to collect your appreciative (?) offers. All their monetary donations were sent "to your reporter to be. added to the park fund. It has been duly presented to the president of the association for such. Masquerade At 9 p.m. on Saturday night the door at 92 Shore Drive was left open and all sorts of strange characters came wandering into the home of Sapphire and Kingfish Rogers. Daisy Mae deserted Lil Abner and came strolling in on the arm of handsome farmer Fluk. A charming Miss Pumpkin was escorted by the tall, dashing Senator J. ^Calhoun Meineke from Boone, Kentucky. Lovable Raggedy Ann and her date Raggedy Andy GleeSon also put in an appearance. And from the far east land of China pame King Fu Su Uttich and his enchanting bride Sing. Lee. The last freight coming into McHenry brought in a Hobo couple by, the name of .Casey. And cattle rustler Hudecek toted his shootin' arm along just to keep law and order, but he did find time to cut a nig with the cow-girl Dale Evans Holt. At one time in the evening the heterogeneous group of guests went out visiting and found several parties to crash. (Imagine even running into another costume, party--all kinds pf crazy people!) Mirth and merriment prevailed thru out the evening as frolicsome colleagues danced and made merry. Prize winners for the best costumes were Raggedy Ann and Senator J. Calhoun. Winners of the thirtysecond extemporaneous speech contest were Mrs. Hobo Casey and Raggedy Andy Gleeson. A tantalizing array of ham, baked beans and all the trimmings served by the hostess climaxed a wonderful evening of fun. Elvis Was Thei$ t>elores and Glen Belohlavy were hosts for another Saturday night masquerade party.' Elvis Presley (a la Ann Dawson) was there picking out chorus twirls for his next movie. Those qualifying were Glendora Belohlavy, Lloydett Dawson, and Dickena Jones. Other fans there to get Elvis's autograph were Lucille Hiawatha Jones, Bum Delores Belohlavy, Recruit Mary Kay Dejay, and Cowboy Larry Dejay. Costume prize winners were Recruit Dejay and Dickena. The party-goers played beat the clock and finished off the evening with refreshments, Complaint Department Over a year' ago the dog problem became quite, serious anfl it was requested that dog owners keep their pets tied up or at home. Perhaps many of the newer residents are not awn re of the damage dogs can do if loft to run free, and that one of the few rules of Lakeland Pint li to keep dogs at home. We have hud novoral complaints about dogs overturning garbage cans. The refuse from garbage cans spread about by dogf certainly is an open invitation for the rodent family to come in. This is not the first time this subject has been discussed in this column. In a growing community such as ours, there are always a few new lawns, young evergreens and plants coming along, we ask again that all dogs, big ones, little ones, males, females, pedigree and mutt, be kept at home.
