CHURCH OF HOLT Hospital Auxiliary Here it is! A completely new column devoted to an all-important subject--news about the neworganized women's auxiliary to the McHenry hospital. „ Watch ror this feature--it will keep you informed with items of interest about auxiliary activities, the McHenry hospital itself and will feature a question and answer department. Many of you would undoubtedly like to know just what a hospital aujdliary is. Anthony S. Dickens, executive director of the Springfield (Ohio) City hospital explains what a hospital auxiliary really is in this way: "First of all, membership in' a hospital auxiliary provides an opportunity for affirmation of the individual dignity of the human being. Secondly, it provides an opportunity to give of our most precious gift: Ourself. It is only through this type of giving that one can achieve the greatest happiness. And thirdly, it is an opportunity for self-denial, the giving up of inpidental pleasure to serve a greater need. For it is only FAMILY (Episcopal) Rt. 59 and Grand Ave. Fox Lake Hills 9:00 a.m. Holy Eucharist and Sunday School. 11:00 a.m. Morning Prayer through self-denial that one can achieve fulfillment. Ultimately then, a hospital auxiliary created in the true spirit of Christian virtues and entered into the spirit of unselfish giving will create for the hospital the finest public relations, the best volunteer service and the greatest wealth and will accrue to the auxiliary members those rewards and deep satisfactions that only the giving of yourself can create." An invitation is extended to all women, 18 years of age ^.and over, from the coijnmunity and surrounding area who are 'intersted in the welfare of the local hospital to become members of the auxiliary that they may avail themselves of this wonderful opportunity to better serve our community. Anyone desiring information about membership in the auxiliary, please contact Mrs. John Neuharth, Rt. 4, Box 736, McHenry. Plans are now underway for a fall benefit theater party some fall benefit theater party Nov'. 28. It will be a new, musical version of "The Women." Tickets are available from auxiliary members or at the hospital. The film will be an exciting first run movie suitable for family viewing and will be followed by a social hour at the theater. Plan to attend this event, it not only promises to provide you an enjoyable evening's entertainment but you will be helping the auxiliary's first, fund raising endeavor to be a success. The volunteer service committee of the auxiliary is in need of volunteers. Any member interested in this phase of auxiliary work, please contact Mrs. Charles Cuda, 406 Clearbrook drive., phone 790-W.
