Paced by Ron May with seventeen points and Loren Miller with sixteen, St. Peter's easily defeated St. Patrick's of McHenry by a score of 65-37. Connie Miller added 14 points. St. Peter's disposed of St. Mary's of McHenry 57-31 and St. Thomas of Crystal Lake 45-36 oft their way to the finals. St. Patrick's got by St. Peter and Paul of Cary 39-35 and St. John's of Johnsburg 51-47 before falling to Spring Grove. In the semi-finals Ron May scored 24 points for St. Peter's while Tom Johnson's fifteen paced St. Thomas of Crystal Lake. In the other semi-final game, which turned out to be the best game of' the tournament in' the Parish Division, St. Patrick's of McHenry came from behind to edge St. John's of Johnsburg 51-47. Bob McCulla with 26 and Jack Thies 13 led the McHenry entry. We sincerely fibped that someone would. One of the first things Jake mentioned after ceremoniously rapping the gavel Monday night was that yours truly be assigned to organizing a fox hunt. It stuck.
