JOHNSBURG NEWS by Betty Hetterman i I DON PEASLEY •ttinrmfi-irirfMiiiin nn i f i rn rriiniiiirtii m, Brownie News The last meeting of the Brownies, which took "place on Jan. 29, found Sandy Meyers acting as hostess for the group. The girls are now' engaged in working on their valentine projects. It has been brought to my attention that two leaders and three committee women are badly needed for new troops next year. These positions take so little time but are so rewarding when you see how Much these young girls learn. If these positions are not filled, it may be necessary to disband the troops..... This would be a terribjn thing to happen since the present officers have worked so hard to get the Brownies started this year. If you have a spare hour a week, you will fill the bill. 4 Passes On Our deepest sympathy is extended to Mrs. Bob Joyce, whose father passed away in Chicago early .Thursday morning. Thomas Stanton, age 88. underwent surgery at Billings hospital earlier last week. He was thought to have been improving when death claimed him. He ws laid to rest in Chicago Monday morning. Mr. and Mrs. John Dehn of Chicago spent last Sunday at the Richard Dehn home, where they Supervisor-Employer Relations Booklet Theme The foreman--as a supervisor skilled in human relations--holds the master key which will unlock greater productivity on the part of the American industrial workers, the National Association of Manufacturers has announced. In a new booklet entitled "Improving Human Relations," the NAM presents an action program which is designed to help top management develop better supervisor - employee relations 'in the plant, and thus step up productivity. Pointing out that the success of a company "rests heavily on how well the management group performs in achieving person-to-person understanding," the booklet emphasizes that the supervisor, as a member of management, must "listen" to employees and understand their needs and wants. Thus, it says, supervisors can identify friction spots that need clearing up and can "build the team spirit so essential to lower costs and greater productivity."
