The redistricting, which has already become effective, retains Winnebago and Boone counties as the 17ih Judicial circuit, and establishes Lake and McHenry counties as the 19th Judicial circuit. There will be three judges for each of the two new circuits in contrast to the total of four judges who previously served the four-county Circuit. The measure was hard fought, with reluctance on the part of some to disturb the status quo which has prevailed since 1870, when the original circuits weie created. As a practicing lawyer in the circuits, it was difficult for the writer to oppose the sitting judges who led the strenuous opposition to a measure which was supported, overwhelmingly, by the lawyers of Lake and Winnebago counties. Great credit is due to Rep. W. J; Murphy of Antioch and Rep. Robert Coulson of Waukegan, as well as Representatives David Hunter, Mabel E. Green and William Pierce of Winnebago county, and Rep. Feme C. Pierce of DeKalb county, who gave their support to the bill in the House. The judges, the lawyers, the litigants and the general public will benefit from this change. Judicial redistricting, as ^.accomplished for this area, is second in importance only to the legislative redistricting which was passed two years ago--and wnich took fifty years to achieve. Now that the debates have" ended and the bill has been signed by Gov. Stratton, the recent controversy may be laid to rest, and we may all look in proper perspective to the benefits which will naturally flow from, an adequately staffed judiciary available to serve this fast-growing section of our state. A whole new set of expensive electronic equipment is needed to service properly. The problems are going to be multiplied several times because you work with three signals instead of one. It will take many more electronic devices to produce the final picture. Black and white has one signal; color has three . . . red, green and blue. As an example, 30% of red, 59% of by Allan McKIm green and 11% of blue will make white on your screen. This is a lot of electronic juggling, so to speak. There «has always been a difference of opinion from one person to the other regarding which is the best b. and w. picture. Now, I'm wondering what will happen if a person is partially color blind. But keep on phoning 2233 for electronic service; any kind. McHENRY TV will somehow satisfy you as we have always. McHENRY TV PHONE 2233 On Route 120 • 2 Blks.
