We plan to literally roll out the red carpet for our newcomers and everyone is invited to come out for this first social night since January. There will be dancing, refreshments and fun for all. , Girl Scout* All of the little Brownies in Troop 415 surprised their mommies on Mother's day with pretty Pansy planters. I'm sure the mothers enjoyed them as much as the girls enjoyed making them. Mrs. Haubold's Brownie Troop also made surprises for their mothers and they were very much appreciated. At least this mother's was. May 26 is the day for the monthly meeting of scouters. Anyie interested in scouting is. in- 'I,ite d to attend. Nite Out The Boy Scouts of Troop No. 629 had a camp-out on the weekend of May 4. A local farmer was kind enough to let the boys camp in the wooded area of his farm. The boys made their own camp site, pitched tents, prepared their ;%eals, blazed trails, and all ' pr- all had a ve^y enjoyable weekend-- even though it was on the coo' side. Addresses Hurry, hurry. We hoped the speed and no trespassing signs will tlo the trick and a special thanks to chairman Pat Jackson who has donated every evening to painting signs so we could g&t them up. . The Chan<3n. el Is in the process of being widened and deepend now by the dragline. This will allow boats to get through. But we hope this will be warping enough to all parents to keep their children away from the channels. We constantly see small children near them and would certainly hate to see anything lappen to them. In case you're wondering where it's going to be, it's being put up behind Vern Thplen's home. It will have a capacity of 100,000 gal. and be 150 feet high. We hppe it will be completed before those hot, dry days arrive, and the water pressure dwindles to a minimum. It is encouraging to know that construction has begun. New Address The Joseph Novotnys are happy to be in their, new home on Hickory Lane. For awhile it. didn't seem as though the house would ever be completed, but the waiting wasn't in vain as they are well pleased with their new-home. ' Tonight, May 16, the P.T.A. plays host to the McHenry county council at a special meeting at Johnsburg. The evening will consist mostly of a school of instruction for new officers of the P.T.A. Every one interested is welcome to attend. The regular monthly meeting of the P.T.A. will be an important one on next Tuesday, May 21, at 8 p.m. members of the board of education will be special guests of honor and will be present to answer. answer questions on our school and school system. Everyone Is urged to attend and husbands are especially invited to this meeting to make all the male guests of honor feel at home since this is the last meeting of the year I think we all should make it a point to come. Minton, is here visiting from California. She's having a prolong visit as Mr. Stork has been a little late in arriving.
