The association which is the organiza-1 tion of registered professional nurses in Illinois will be represented by 500 nurses. The international council of nurses is a federation of national professional nurses association and has a membership of 450,000. Visits will be made to European hospitals and health, agencies. Mrs. Marie Wagner and sons of Woodstock spent Friday evening with Mrs. Ruby Shepard. Mrs. Louis Hawley and Mrs. Ernest Reinwall Jr. and son spent Monday afternoon with relatives at Crystal Lake. Mrs. Ella Waikup of Greenwood called on Mrs. Ruby Shepard Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Clay Rager of Chicago and Mrs. Elizabeth Carr of Alden were callers in the Dr. Hepburn home Wednesday afternoon. College .Offers Workshop In Elementary Education Northern Illinois State college is offering a workshop in elementary education this summer at the Clarence Olson school in 'Woodstock. The content of the wori<Shop will be deteiroined by the expressed needs of the teachers who enroll; however, it generally centers around reading, curriculum, child development, arts and crafts, and social studies. There will be two demonstration classes which will utilize children of the Woodstock school. These classes will aid in allowing the teachers to observe practices, suggested in their own sessions of the workshop and will provide valuable experiences for the children enrolled. Forty-seven teachers of Mc- Henry county have enrolled and information was secured from Northern State College that the" enrollment will be limited A night of registration will be held May 17 at 8 p.m. in the Olson school. Members of the faculty of Northern will be present to -complete registration of the teachers and to give additional information. The \vorkshop will begin June 17 and end July 26. It will give six semester hours of efther undergraduate or graduate college credit. Members of the Holy Napie boiling team and their wives Jbr guests enjoyed a roast beef dinner at St. Jeter's parish hall on Wednesday night. This was held as a closing of the bowling season and various awards were presented. . ' Father Daleiden presented the awards to the frist place winners who were Danny Miller, Eugene Hergott,' Alfred May, Tony Meyers and Connie Miller. There were after dinner speeches with Jerry Miller as toastmaster. Interesting talks were giygn by Father Daleiden, Father, Plesa and Father Eugene Jung of Shek" by, Ohio who we were happy /to have present as our guest. There was a social evening- at cards and visiting after the dinner. The Girl Scouts and guests enjoyed an evening of roller skating at the rink in Twin Lakes, Wis-, Monday night. , Father Eugene Jung, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tinney and Bud Tinney enjoyed a trip to St. Nazianz, Wis/, ofl Wfrttnmiay ortd ^visited at SAlvatorian Seminary. CongratuWtion to the. of '57. Baccalaureate services for the graduates of -1957 wa$ held at the high school in Richmond on Friday night. Graduation was Sunday afternoon at the high school auditorium. .There was si large crowd present to witness this impressive ceremony. Rev. Robert A. Hooker of Woodstock delivered •, the address. Several selections were given by the-high school band and choral group. Presentation of diplomas .Was made -by R. W. Gardner, president of the school® boarav Benediction by Rev. Harold Carlson was an appropriate closing. Among those who celebrated in honor of the graduates in their family were the George W. Mays for Diane, The Olsons for Judy, the Robert Kautzes for Harold, the Tony Meyerses for Betty, the Widhalms for Raymond. Relatives and friends were entertained in their homes Sunday evening. She and most of the other officers and chairmen will return in the fall to serve another term. ^ The speaker at the meeting was Lois Etzold, who spoke on good grooming hints, followed by musical entertainment by the Thornton children. Mrs. Merkt, a niece of Mrs- Fred Bienapfl, was present to offer several well refleiyed musical numbers, including tUe fflpukr "I Believe." Her voice -will return in the near •fUture.
