Woodstock, this past week have been Maureen Henn, Beverly Blish and Ignace Bergis. -- Well, --the- Season is off to the usual good start, between the weather and some of our* wellwishing. parents that .do not believe in giving our managers a chance to run their own teams, and think for themselves, we are starting off with the usual troubles. The whole idea behind PONY LEAGUE is to teach the boys how to become better - baseball players and above all, GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP, and if some of the parents cannot display it how can we expect to teach it to the boys? We feel that we are very lucky to have a group of men that will devote their time to managing these teams as well as spending their time in practice games, and we have all the confidence in the world in them. So in the future be fair to the boys as well as the managers and come out ahd watch a good game, and let them play it among themselves. It is a little too early.tp say how the teaihs are stacking up as some of them need a few' games to'find out their weakness and make a few changes in the lineups. If you have watched any of the games you have seen some pretty nice pitching and some nice plays made on the field and hope it will be a pretty close race. We all felt pretty bad Sunday that Joe Sanford and Ken Homo were hurt and hope that they are coming along O.K. e have been assured by Pa ennes. that ' we can play: a double header at the V.F.W. diamond next Sunday without any interference so it will be the Braves vs. Sox at 1:00 p.m. and the Cards vs. Giants at 3:00 p.m.- Next Monday at the Admiral it will be the Giants vs. Yanks at 6:00 p.m. and Wednesday the Cards vs. Sox at 6:00 p.m. Tnen Let's hope that with a break in thfe weather and a little help from the Good Lord, we can play on a . diamond of our own before long.
