7" PISTAKEE HIGHLANDS The July meeting of the PHCA was held on Wednesday, July 3, at the Community Center. Guest of the evening was John Colomer. He will make arrangements to register voters in the Highlands at a later date. So if you have hot registered to date, watch for details as to1 when you- will be able to do so. It was regretable that attendance was down, and more were- not present at the time that Mr. Colomer spoke to the group. ' Wanda Dobecki gave a membership committee report and also ..advised that a list of delinquent members will be posted on the bulletin board. A notice will be sent out to all. residents advising them about the . meeting to be held ,at the Center on Wednesday, July 17, at 8 p.m., in regards to forming a church in the community. Everyone interested is urged to attend. ' Ray Madock was appointed to handle arrangements for the light on Route 12. Mr. Fletcher is checking into a better place for the boys to play ball inasmuch as a great deal of criticism has been made about those foul balls. Inasmuch as the volunteer lawnmowers were out of service at the time the beach committee needed them .funds have now been made available to purchase a lawn mower for the association. The sign committee will make up a sign for the new beach. Reports from swimmers indicate this beach is deep and signs will be posted to that affect. Ray Thelen has donated a deep freeze to the association, and the Skinners have donated a table and chairs. At the earliest convenience, the construction committee will bring both donations'to the barn. Children have been using private boats as diving boards down f at the channel ^ and have caused considerable damage to some boats Boats are private property and your children should be so advised. You, as parents, are responsible for damage done by your children. Need we say more? The nominating committee will meet before the next meeting and have a list of suggested candidates for your consideration. It is hoped that arrangements can be made to have someone come to the next meeting and speak on the pros and cons of Incorporating. It seems as though it's the same, few doing ail the work while others sit back and reap the benefits. A suggestion was made that maybe we should incorporate and make everyone pay equally and be able to accomplish much more. So make sure you'll be^able to attend the next meeting and hear about the good and bad points about incorporating. ^ Buy A Ticket? Now's our chance to show our appreciation to the Johnsburg rescue squad. A benefit dance is going to be' held at the Johnsburg Community Center on Saturday, August 31. Volunteers will be coming through the, subdivision on Wednesday, July 17, to, sell tickets for. this dance. Now's your chance to give to a good cause arid also to take the little lady out for an evening. Let's all buy tickets and polish up our dancing shoes.
