On July 25 the Richmond Rotarians will attend i dinner meeting in McHenry which will take the place of the meeting in our town for the week. John Sell, was initiated into'the Iftary last week. Late next month the McHenry club will have a rodeo. The Richmond club has been invited to purchase tickets in advance. At a board of directors meeting an additional appropriation of $25 was voted for the iewly formed Boys' club. A Boy -Little Paul was bom July 2 at Arlington to Mr. and Mrs. Philip Amandes of Richmond. There are four other children in the family--Peggy, Laurie, Mary and Johnny. Sunday School Picnic Last Sunday afternoon the Sunday school of the Community church held a picnic and swimming party at the home of W. Efomilton of Twin Lakes. About f^ty people were in attendance and enjoyed a day of fun and fellowship. Gary died just four days after his twin brother, Larry. , little twins were two months phi,' They leave one brother and three sisters, Steve, Shelly, Jan and Joan. The childrens' maternal . .grandparents are Mr. EtfidC'Mrs. Fay Katzenberg of Richmond. Our deepest sympathy goes to the family. Family Forty Mr. and Mrs. Hirn and Mrs. Schwartz, mother of Mrs. Hirn had their relatives' visiting them for most of last week. Mrs. Ora Gehrig Herron sister of Mrs. Schwartz came from Los Angeles. Mr. and- Mrs. Eugene O'Connell, daughter and son-inlaw of Mrs. Herron came from Kansas. Mr. and Mrs. William Mohr came fronr Rock Island. Mrs. Mohr is a sister to Mrs. Schwartz. Then Mrs. Schwartz' son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Schwartz arrived from Mokena. It, was quite an occasion for the different branches of the family came from so many different parts of the country. Mrs. Herron works as a fitter of gowns from R.k.O. Studios in Hollywood and had many interesting stories to relate about her job. She has worked in her profession for many years. After the Eugene O'Connells left Richmond they went on to Chicago to the new Prudential building where Mr. O'Connell had some, business. Birthday "Lisa Holmgren, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Holmgren celebrated her fifth birthday last week. She brought a treat of bubble gum for all the children in her class at vacation church school. ' Here and There Representatives of several Richmond families enjoyed listening to Rise Stevens at College Camp, Lake Geneva Sunday night at the first concert of the current "Music by the Lake" series. They were the J. W. Kruses, the Ed Wittmayers, the R. Noyces, Mrs. H. Burton, the Bob Gardners, Mrs. F. Woods and the H. Carlsons. The four Hoffman children, Jimmy, Denny, Peggy and Jeff, are the proud possessors of a dog, Brownie. Their daddy bought Brownie at an auction Saturday and four happy offspring, I never did see. We hope Brownie will thrive under all the attention she is receiving. Dinner guest Sunday at the home of the H .Carlsons was Miss Grace Greiner, missionary nurse who has been serving in Liberia. Miss Greiner spoke to the children of Grace church Sunday school last Sunday. -She taught last week and this wsek at Camp Alpine. Chuck Steinke spent a day or two in northern Wisconsin with his uncle recently. The Cub Scouts enjoyed a game of baseball at their July Pack meeting in back of the high school,, last week. Mrs. Ernest Moelmann, mother of Mrs. G. A. Stilling of this city, passed away at her home in Chicago, Sunday morning after a brief' illness. Jacob May, a farmer residing near Johnsburg was badly injured Friday while mowing hay with a mower, during an electrical storm, his team became scared and ran away. He , received his wings and commission at the Naval air training base at Pensacola, Fla. , Allen Kueney, Sl/c, 19 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kueny of Kenosha, stationed at Quonset Point, R.I., recently won a prize of $1,000 on the Bob Hawk comedy quiz show. Allen is the grandson of the late Mrs. Helena Degen of McHenry. Charles F. Sutton, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Sutton is enrolled 1 at Roosevelt college, Chicago for summer school. Caretakers of the chapel at Chapel Hill, erected more than a century ago by Frederick Schmitt, entered the building a few days ago and found the offering box -torn from the wall and the money gone.
