Mr. and Mrs. Anderson own the summer residence on the corner of South, and Sumac and are in Lilymoor nearly mer. It was on Tuesday, while Mr. Anderson was' working on his property in,Lilymoor, that he was overtaken by weakness and cold mveat. t After receiving treatment at the McHenry hospital. Home From The Pftlilppines Richard White, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles White, has just rejftrned from a tour of duty with the armed forces in the Philippine Islands. He arrived back in the U.S.A. the first part of June and came home. He reports back to the Great Lakes Naval training station on August 1. Richard is the oldest son of the Whites and ' entered service three years ago. Sweet Sue... «Miss Sue Holcum, oldest daughr of Mr. and Mrs. Silas Holcum, celebrated her birthday in a big way this year. She was 'sweet sixteen' and those that knew her before could also say that she' was a sweet 15.' On Saturday. July 13, twenty guests enjoyed ice cream, cake, sandwiches, chips, candy, summer cottage, but has now been (enlarged, decorated and landscaped until it would be hard to believe it wasn't an entire new home. A recent addition to the Haines' garage/is a fine greenhouse which vtill serve to supply the floral items which are always in bloom in the Haines" yard. The Haineses are quite' proud of their hybrid tomatoes which will top anything we have seen lately. They have a rather interesting little anecdote to relate concerning these Texas wonders." Walter Malecke has just recovered sufficiently to relate an experience he had on June 23! His wife, Mrs. Malecke, surprised Walter with a birthday party/This was no ordinary celebration. There were some sixty friends ^and relatives from all parts of the world who arrived laden with gifts. Now whether,or not there was a guest present for each one of Walter's years, we aren't certain. many fluffy little gifts which she received for the small fry that is expected for an extended visit in her home. .. Ice cream, cake and limeade were enjoyed by all before departing. Personals Mr. and Mrs. Robert LaPresti and son. Glen, of Beach Road had as their guests last week, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Abel, Sr., and their son, Charles, ar.d daughter Susan, all of Chicago. The Abels are the parents' of Mrs. LaPresti. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Wijas re- Tours Europe We learned recently that Miss Mary Joan Soutsos, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Constantine Soutsos is presently on a two months travel and tour of Europe, Residents will remember Mary Joan from her frequent visits and vacations at her parents summer residence on Lily Lake. Miss Soutsos, who is a French teacher at Tuley high, wrote recently from London to say that she was having a fine time and was about to leave for the continent. Shower Mesdames George Steindorfer, Helen Golbeck, Florence Kruger, Thelma Massheiner, Dolores Schiavone, Gertrude Freund, Richard Hyatt, Donald Schiavone, and Katherine Freund were the guests at a surprise shower held at the home of Mrs. James Krein in honor i of Mrs. Cathy Boro. Mrs.' Boro was quite delighted ,with-the Efdward Wojniak from Pennsylvania. Father Wojniak flew from Pa. in order to be present last month at the double graduation party which Steve and wife Lil gave for their daughter, Arlene, who graduated from McHenry high school, and their son, Bobby, who graduated from the local junior high. Mr. and Mrs, Dawson Trine and their four sons, Richard, Larry, Harry and David, stopped by at ' the Beiford home on Wednesday evening. We were especially glad; to see the Trines back in McHenry after a year's absence. Dawson, former McHenry high school teacher, has completed his study under a year's fellowship at the university of Wisconsin, - and the Trines are again making their residence at their home on Grove Street. In September' Mr. Trine will assume teaching duties in Arlington Heights. Mr. and Mrs. George Jones observed their tenth wedding anniversary on Friday, July 12. They celebrated by taking off from home by auto for their vacation through the Southern United States. Those of you who know this Tennessee boy would venture a safe bet with us that he'll stop^ by the 'ole hometown'. The Jones' children, Cynthia and Darrel, will have an opportunity to meet some of daddy's kin in Tennessee. The family plan to swim in the Atlantic at Savannah. If they dip into that salty, blue ocean at Tibey Beach in Georgia, we'll be remembering that spot from last summer. Mr. an<J Mrs. Fred Svoboda had as their house guest, their son, Fred, Jr., of Kewanee. ' Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Moore visited in Villa Park over t£e weekend with Mrs. Moore's brother and his wife, ar.d children," Mr. and Mrs. Leo Moore, Carol and Gary. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hueckstaedt, Laura Lea, Cheryl, Dutchie and Alan spent a July weekend in Big Rapidfe, Mich with Mrs. Hueckstaedt's sister and her husband, Mr: and Mrs. Robert Russel, and family. Walter Einspar has Returned from ^his two weeks stay in St. Petersburg, Florida. This year he drove his auto to Florida and out [eys^for^ight^seeingan d fishing. In other years Walter has gone south by means of train or plane, He expects to make another trip soon to visit with his daughter^&nd her husband and his year olq grandson, Gary. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Brown and Gary have moved from their home on Route 120 in Lilymoor to a new home in Lakeland, Florida. * Mr. and Mrs. Constantine Sbutsos and family have been out to their summer residence in Lilymoor for the past two weekends.
