There were two guests speakers for the evening. The first was Mr. Pollack Mho spoke on the importance of inakin^ wills. The main discussion bf the evening followed a speech fay Bob Heilgeist about incorporation. Mr. Heilgeist is an attorney and gave a very good picture of What incorporation consists of. The job of nominating officers • for the election next month was another important item on the agenda. The nominating committee made their suggestions and nominations from the floor were added to these. Our Big Leagures Are at it again. The legion baseball team played Algonquin last weekend defending the county championship and won 13-3. Don Bentz and Denny Litwin are back volunteer to be our much needed in tliprp pitching and it seems like life guards at our nejv beach. Summer Showers There have been a couple of showers this summer, not the wet kind, but the party kind. Mrs. Sarver had a surprise baby shower given for her by MeryT Fletcher and Joyce Heir. Quite a few of the local ladies attended and helped add to the layette of the expected heir. And Mrs. Stoneking recenty had a baby shower for Terry Pfingston at her home. It was quite a surprise to Terry who received a lot of nice things for the baby expected late this summer. Around Our Town The FSeinhardts ' are entertaining their good friends from Peoria,. Ed and Sue Benzli and their, daughter, Carol. They are enjoying their first-glimpse of the Rein* handt grandchild and are also enjoying, the fishing in the channel. We're sorry to hear that Mrs. Haase has not been feeling too well. We hope tl^|# she is much better real soon. ! It's so nice to see Miss Herman back puttering around the yard again. She is here for the month of August on va'cation from her job of nursing in the city. The Wroblewskis have their daughter Mrs. Henry Waldin and family. She is looking forward to living here someday soon since building will start on her home next to her parents in the near future. John Reilly is sitting (?) back and enjoying those three long weeks of much needed vacation. Kathy probably keeps him supplied with enough little chores to keep him from getting bored. The Smiths went out of town last week for another little weekend jaunt since their first attempt was sort of hampered by rain. Cake Outers A "big happy birthday to a very little boy who celebrated his first birthday this month, David Heir. We send hirri lots of good wishes for a- happy day with lots of surprises. August 11 was the big day for Charlotte Smith who was very happy to turn the ripe old age of 8. Here and There The Taylors toofc a little trip to Lake Geneva in' their new station wagon which has been in the garage for repairs after an accident^ few weeks ago. It's almost as good as new and they all ^njoyed the sights around Lake Geneva. Mrs. Bentz went to Chicago for a little shopping trip last Tuesday and then took off for Milwaukee on Thursday. She's really enjoying that vacation of hers. ' We were sorry to hear Dot Johnson had to gosto McHejnry hospital for a small operation on her ear a week ago. She had to have it all bandaged up for awhile but is feeling much better now. Mr. and Mrs. McEnaney were guests of the Schlicks a weekend ago. They enjoyed their stay and a good time was had by all. We send our best wishes with Andy Anderson who will tye leaving for the Navy'on August 16. He would like to get into the submarine service and we wish him lots of luck. Barbara Wilson is having a vacation guest this week. She is Sandra Murphy, school chum from Chicago. We hope she has a grand time. Linda and Debbie Dobecki entertained two old friends from Maywood, Dalia and Lisa Belinkoff. They used to be steady playmates and had a good time visiting once again.
