Pinochle Club Former member, Marcella F&s, entertained the pinochle club on a Wednesday, two weeks ago. On Tuesday, Aug. 27. Mrs. James A. Schmit (your former reporter--Annette), presented her loving spouse with a bouncing 7 lbs. 1 oz. of masculinity. This was most welcome news for the whole family which includes Dad, big sister Ruth, brother Joey and formerly the baby--sister Terry. You may be sure among such a grand group this baby will get his share of loving. Congratulations young Victor Steven Schmit for picking such a grand Mom and Dad and such swell sisters and brothers. Humpty Dumpty Little Susie Ehrhardt found out just how Humpty Dumpty felt, when she fell a few weeks ago and suffered a broken arm. Belated Best Wishes Two more of our villagers, born under the sign of Leo, had birthdays on Aug. 10. They are Ann Brzezinski and Harold Foss. Proud Owners An all gofd new car has made its appearance on our local scene, and it is rumored to belong to Mr. and Mrs. Ed Steadman. This reporter is wondering if it is any relation to that "solid gold cadillac" that some playwright recently produced. But at any rate, inasmuch as Ed is one of our most loved police force, we can be sure that this is one car that will stay within the speed limits. Mary is the former Mary Buss. Mrs. Ida Bedard of Chicago was a welcome guest at the George Forbes* home where she spent a week with her sister, Mrs. George Forbes. The Harold Foss-family acted as hosts last weekend to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Just of Milwaukee and three brothers of the St. Don Basco school, who were also from Milwaukee. Mr. and Mrs. (Dorothy and Marty ) Wrubleski and children, made a visit last Friday to Dorothy's mom, Mrs. Fred Swanson of Milwaukee. Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Hyatt, Sr., hosted at a dinner Sunday. Visiting were Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Hyatt, Jr. and family from Aurora and Joe Yaeger. Joe is an old friend to many of our villagers. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Romkowske spent Saturday in Kenosha, taking in the "Ten Commandments" which they enjoyed very much. On Sunday they visited with Ronnie's parents in Des Plaines. Surprise (????) Party Mrs. Lu Bitterman was the victim of a real honest to goodness 'Surprise" party when her daughter, Jacqueline, aged six, came home one day last week and nonchalantly advised her mother that, she had invited nineteen friends over for her birthday party that i day. This was the first mom had j known about it If you saw a flustered, nervous wreck of a woman ; flying about, baking a cake, buy- i ing favors and making all the last! minute arrangements for pop etc you can bet your life it was'Jacqueline's mother. Last Tuesday a party was escorted to Riveryiew Park by Jean Booster. Among those present were Ken and Carol Booster, Jen Ulrich of McHenry, Sally Wadsworth and June Npvotny of Aurora. " • . Ken and Carol Booster performed, some of their famous dance routine for visitors to the Fox Lake centennial, held Saturday, Aug. 24. They were a big hit. Mr. and Mrs. Howard E. Booster will be spending a two week vacation at the Larry Booster home in September.
