Phillip Thenneses Married 45 Years Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Thennes recently celebrated their fortyfifth anniversary by dining out. Their table was beautifully decorated with red roses and a tiered anniversary cake. Attending this special occasion were the following guests: Mr. and Mrs. Leo Diedrich, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Justen, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Thennes, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Vogt and Bud Thennes. Following a lOvely dinner, the group resumed to the Thennes home and enjoyed the evening playing cards, after which a buffet luncheon was served. iiiitit denhoeft, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Wiedenhoeft of Oakhurst subdivision. He is now stationed at Fort Lee, Va. Both Miss Hoffman and Mr. Wiedenhoeft attended the Mc- Henry high school. The wedding will take place in Virginia the early part of November. Marilyn Smith Weds Carl Ohlrich ((Frank A. Schafers Observe Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Schafer of Johnsburg Road will celebrate their twenty-second wedding anniversary on Saturday, Oct. 26, when they enjoy dining out. Their guests will be Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Freund of Johnsburg, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Young of Mo- Henry and Mr. and Mrs. William Leanna of Woodstock. 6t. Jofrn the Baptist churdi was ifie scene of a beautiful wedding last Saturday, Oct. 19, when Miss Marilyn Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter H., Smith of Johnsburg, became the bride of Mr. Carl Ohlrich, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Ohlrich of Woodstock. Rev. Fr. Blitsch officiated at the double ring ceremony at 9:30 o'clock. ^ . The'bride was lovely in a floor length gown, styled With molded bodice, V-neckline and featuring panels of chantilly lace and frothy tulle down the front, with tier upon tier of scalloped lace and ruffled tulle flowing down the back. Her beaded sequin and pearl tiara held in place a fingertip vfeil of appliqued chantilly lace. The bride, given, in marriage by her father, carried a crescent shaped, bouquet of white Fuji mums, pom-poms and lilies of the valley. Miss Smith carried a handkerchief which had been used by the groom's grandmother, Mrs. Clyde Gates, on her wedding fifty years | ago. She wore pearls, a gift of | the groom. Phyllis Kalemba, sister of the bride, acted as matron of honor, and bridesmaids were Mrs. WHna Davis, sister of the groom, Jklrs. Joann Miller and Miss Joan Wenzip. both close friends. • Mrs. Kalemba chose a shrimpcolored ballerina length dress of crystalette, with inserts of ruffled tulle, with small bows down .the back and matching tiara. She carried a crescent bouquet of bronze Fuji mums and pom-poms. Mrs. Davis wore raspberry. Mrs. Miller, gold, and Miss Wenzig. green all styled similarly to the dress of the matron of honor. They carried the same kind of bouquets also. The pretty little flower girl, Cindy Davis, a niece of the groom, wore a white taffeta, floor length dress with a large bow in the back. She had a matching headpiece and carried a basket of bronze mums. Arthur. Dana, a close friend of the groom, served as best man and groomsmen were Richard Foote, Robert Shook and Lyle Bungard, all of Woodstock. Dale .Gates, uncle of the groom, and Walter Brown, the bride's uncle, were ushers. Mrs. Smith chose for her daughter's wedding a, blue mist sheath lace dress with satin cummerbund. With it she wore black accessories and a white orchid corsage. The groom's mother selected wore a yellow* orchidcorsage. Following the nuptial service; breakfast was served to About forty-five relatives and members1 of the bridal party at1 the -Johnsburg clubhouse. At 5 o'clock, a reception and dinner were served there to 375 guests. The three-tier wedding cake was cut and served by two close friends of the bride, Mrs. Doinna Anderson add Mtai Gerry Thompson. The couple is now enjoying a trip through the West m two weeks, after which they will make their home in Woodstock. The groom graduated in 1951 from Woodstock high.school and is employed by his father as a brick layer. • THE JOHN BALDWINS A recent bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. John Baldwin, who exchanged vows at St. Peter's rectory in Spring Grove. Mrs. Baldwin is the former Phyllis May, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip May. Reel the Want Ads A daughter was born to $/[r. and Mrs. John Diedrich of McHenry Oct. 17 at the Memorial hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Pete Brenner of Wonder Lake became the parents of a daughter, Oct. 17 at the Memorial hospital. On Oct. 16, a daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Moravec of McHenry. A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. George Nugent of McHenry, Oct. 18 at the Memorial hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Saeleris, St. Charles, are parents of a son, David Lawrence, bom Oct. 15. They have two other children, Stevie and Dianne. Mrs. Saelens is the former Jeanne Conway. Mr. and Mrs. John Whalen, Elgin, are parent? of a Son, John, Jr. who was born Oct. 12. NEW WORSHIP SERVICE A new early Sunday morning worship ssrvice is announced by the Community Congregational church of Island Lake. The pastor, Rev. R. H. Nellis, states that on Sunday, Oct. 27, and regularly thereafter, there will be a worship service at -9:30 a.m., in addition to the regular 10:45 a.m. service. Breakfast was served at the Legion home at noon for twenty-four members of the bridal party and immediate families, with a reception following from 2 to 5 o'clock for 130 guests. The bride is a 1955 graduate of the local high school and has been employed by Illinois Bell Telephone in Chicago.
