Refreshments were served buffet style. / Kiwanis News The football banquet is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 5 at 7:30 at the McHenry high school sponsored jointly by the McHenry and the McHenry Township clubs. This is an annual affair to honor the teams and cheerleaders, and is one of the thr^e big Kiwanis events of the year. The public is invited, nay, urged to attend, for it is the proceeds of this dinner plus Kid's Day which finance the Kiwanis program f<Jr the year. Farmer's nijght wUl take place sometime in December. Lloyd Burlingham will be the guest of honor and the date will be set in the near future, pending on word from Mr. Burlingham. Mr. Fradinardo read the treasurer's report lin the place of Mrs. Fradinardo, whose usual faithful attendance was missed. The balance in the treasury was reported as of Oct. 31. A hunter in a nearby blind fired at some fowl on wing directly in line of sight to the blind which Bill and others were using. Seeing the shot, Bill ducked and his only loss were his glasses shattered by stray shot. Returns Home Mrs. Val Fradinardo was able to return to her home last Friday following a stay in McHenry hospital. We are glad to report at the time of this writing that Val is much improved and getting stronger every day; however, she still needs to have a great deal of rest and is allowed to have only limited number of visitors. A Baby Shower This is what happened on Wednesday, Nov. 13. Mrs. Donald Schiavone* replied to request of husband, Don, by answering, "Sure, only your brother doesn't have your drill, Jim does!" After some debate concerning the whereabouts of said item, Mr.^ Schiavone finally convinced Mrs.W Schiavone that the drill was at the home of his brother, Vincent, so Mrs. Schiavone left home on the errand with rain jacket (because of the obvious rain) and the reminder of her husband not to be gone long. Arriving ,at the home of Vincent Schiavone, Lois walked through the rain and into a 'shower in the house.'
